Paul Aspden
Don't recall seeing Ash in many ditches!...And if a 4 speed syncro box is the way to go, I know where there's one of them too, probably fit in a pre lit chassis!! Carbon nose and wings with an ali body should look fantastic!

mhc
Second post. Tried to make some room in the garage to begin work. Dropped the chassis onto a trolley and started to take a few measurements. My oh my, those Westield sevens are small compared to the fat b-----d Westfields we drive now. Notice I have dropped the prelit moniker. It was both advertised and sold as a Westfield Seven and so a Seven it will remain. Presently covered in a nice rust covered coating, on closer inspection it reveals itself to be surface rust. The tape measure does not lie. Driver size is determined by the width and the length of the cockpit, both lacking in inches. In the present form this would make the driver to be both very short and thin. Rules me out. I will have to increase the length by removing the pedal box and fitting floor mounted pedals. This will compromise the position of the engine (Honda F20c) but I am hopefull that this will still be possible. The bonnet line is very low but can be altered slightly. Just cut out a few tubes at the front and placed a scrap engine in. Not very pretty. The back of the car needs a few more tubes to stiffen up the rear, and the axle brackets may have to be moved to allow the trailing arms more droop with the altered geometry. Presently waiting for bushes, rose joints, tubing and a set of pedals before I start the main work. So long for now.

Now *that* is going to be tight! But, very

Paul Aspden
Bl**dy hell Mick that chassis looks really good! I'm astonished at how close to fitting that tall Honda motor is, will hardly need a bulge. I was going to ask if you where extending the trailing arms, but that not really possible is you're running ali bodywork, and the regs won't allow it anyway. Just one suggestion, bet you can't guess what!!! Quite a bit of progress there mate. Keep it up, see you next week.
