My initial confusion was that when I first signed up to the forum (although I do remember being asked from my WSCC membership number, and the fact the forum is launched from the WSCC main site), I was not aware the forum was member based but thought it was an open forum. Maybe it would be better to lock out more options (why let me post messages if not a member), make it clear on the launch page that the forum is membership based, and maybe prompt anyone posting an advert (apologies if you do this already) that if they don't add a contact number of mail address only forum members can respond?? I did have the ability to do all of the things in the past, again I am not for 1 second saying I should still be able to, just that maybe some of your long standing members think everyone "registered" on the forum has the ability to contact them about their advertised car?
