Fiat Uno 1.0 FIRE - Lots of fun! and nice revy engine

Ford Mondeo 1.8 VERONA - Dull

Volvo 740 2.3 auto - Bought for wife but surprisingly fun!

Volvo T5 2.5 auto - Weirdly less fun than previous Volvo, probably cos 740 had RWD and T5 had FWD

Renault Megane estate 1.5DCI 80 - Good economy and was very reliable!

Renault Grand Espace 2.0 DCI 175 - Still got this and very happy with it!

BMW Z4 3.0 Sport - Loved this car so much - better not let my wife see this post...

Westy Cosworth YB - Love this too, apart from it making me go deaf!

Also had some work related cars including:-

Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 - Horrid

Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 - Nice free revving engine, otherwise horrid

Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec - not bad

Renault Clio 1.5 DCI 80 - surprisingly reliable and very good economy, ran this to 130K without problems

Renault Megane 1.5 DCI 100 - Good apart from the steering lock failing

and since 2008... 3 X BMW Mini Cooper 1.6 D's - Good apart from being quite noisy, doesn't seem to be much sound proofing inside compared to the Renaults. Also had several eletric problems with them, air con failure and turbo problems...

MkII Escort 1.3L - I was 17, the car was 18, we had fun for 7 years, bought and sold for £500.

Peugeot 306 XTDT - the one with the all electric windows and sunroof, which all failed, so did the suspension, the heater matrix. Built like Mr Potato Head.

VW Bora 130TDI - Solid, reliable motor but the saloon boot was impratical for the bike and camping kit.

Robin Hood 2B - Pretty basic and rattly but a decent first kit car on a budget

Alfa 147 16v JTD - Brilliant when it all worked together but too many garage bills and electrical gremlins

BMW 320d estate - Dull as dishwater even with a remap but 194k now on the clock now and it's so reliable. Estate boot is very handy for sleeping in at beer festivals.

Westie - Bought for the same price we sold the Robin Hood for, bargain, fun, grin. Love it!

My list fairly boring as I tend to hang onto cars for a good while ! ( this is 28 years of motoring)

Anglia 997/1200/1500. ( all 150 AOR )

Marina TC. ( RHP 140R) - worst car

Fiesta 1.1. ( A880 YOC)

Mk 1 RS2000. ( GKX 640N or GKN ?)

Capri 2.8i - lot of fun

Escort mk3 1.3

Orion 1.4 - bad to drive but other wise good

Mondeo 1.8 mk1

Mondeo 2.0 ( best in the world- had this 10yrs)

Vauxhall Astra van. (£300) cheapest total cost , sold for £500.

Vauxhall Astra van ( yep 2nd one) ( £600)

Westfield money pit interms £/mile.

Mondeo 1.8 mk1 (again) only kept couple of months - uncomfortable

Mondeo 2.0 tdci mk2 - another best buy

Rayleigh wisp

Some of these existed in parallel - eg the last 4 I still have.

Mrs H has also used some of these and presently uses one of the Mondeo's - she has also had a mini 850 and Skoda Estelle ( good fun but poor build quality - had to go after 2 brake fails - it was 18 month old with 11k ish miles !!! Still under warranty. You also had to tickle the carb to get it to start on a cold day

Crikey, there's some long list's there

From the age of 17....

Renault 11 GTL 1.4L - Red (A375 OPU) - It was actually my mums but I rear ended another car on a dual carriageway and wrote it off about 6 months after my test.

Ford Fiesta 1.3 LX Sapphire - Caymen Blue (M422 TMT) - The first car I bought, it was 3 years old and I paid £6122 for it.  Had it for two years and then traded it in for something bigger.

Renault Laguna 1.8 RT - White (L546 VBK) - It was a great car but plagued by electrical problems, traded it after 8 months of ownership before the warrantly ran out.

Citroen Saxo VTR - Woodland Green (V571 PPU) - I'm from essex! Bought it brand new in 1999 and kept it for two years and sold it for half what I paid!

Renault Megane 1.6 Sport - Blue (R753 XNO) - My most relaible Renault but it ended it's life after two years burried under the back of a people carrier on a country road.

VW Golf 2.0S Estate - Blue (V995 JKN) - The tow barge, only sold it last month after 5-1/2 years of ownership and 90,000 miles.

Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 Sport - Silver (T47 RNT) - Used as the works car, bought it 2-1/2 years ago with 50K on the clock and sold it in January (2 years later) with 80K, only depreciated by £500.

Westfield Mazda SDV - Crimson

VW Golf GT TDI 130 - Green(03) - The current tow barge, bought it last month at 6 years old and only 20K on the clock... Not bad for a Diesel.

I dug my list out of this thread expecting to be able to add something only to find I haven't acutally changed cars since this started

The only thing i can add to my list is 2/3 of a 1990 Narrow Bodied Westfield :d

This thread is properly usless without pics. Just three pics of your top three is better than a list of 50 cars IMO! ;)

2nd car:

3rd car:

Then an Alfa that was hilarious fun, gorgeous red leather:

The current daily hack. 194k on the clock, dead reliable but a bit dull. But then the Westie is for the excitement

BMW.jpg

The old Robin Hood, good bang for your buck, a cheap bit of fun

Thats more like it, loving the first car (Mk2 4 Door) hand sprayed, lots of rust & no wheel trims. You certainly started with a classic! :)
