langy Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 The wallet was on the edge of a black hole and poor old Fred got sucked into it when he picked it up Quote

Captain Colonial Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 No, not something HE found in the wallet... Something that was in the wallet when he returned it to its rightful owner? OK, help is needed here. He never managed to return the wallet - he never got that far. Quote

Giving clues now... 1) Not in an accident - but he WAS in need of medical help as a result of what happened to him 2) Oh yes! 3) Found something in the wallet relating to health... but NOT a problem... 4) It wasn't what he was given, it was something he WASN'T given... 5) Not sure, but we'll say yes Quote
pistonbroke2 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 In the wallet was the original owners Blood Donor card. Fred got flattened after picking up the wallet and rushed to the Hossy for a Blood tran. Thinking that the wallet was Freds they topped him up with the wrong stuff and Fred snuffed out. Elementary my dear Chap. Quote

Elementary my dear Chap. Sadly, that was already guessed and rejected (see previous), so not quite so elementary! Quote
jeff oakley Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Fred was a diabetic, he collapsed and needed insuline but something in the wallet suggested otherwise and he died. His widow then sued the wallet owner for loosing the wallet which Fred would otherwise not have found, and leaving the information which led to him having no treatment. Thousands would die as a result of Freds death, as he was on the verge of a break through in medical reserch and a cure for all cancers and old age.... and all because some carless b******ds cannot look after his wallet. I like it. Wrong, but I like it. Recap with hints: 1) Fred died in hospital 2) Fred was not the victim of an accident 3) Fred died because he was NOT given something he desperately needed Bonus clues: 1) Fred was walking through a bad area of town 2) The owner of the found wallet was quite religious That ought to do it! DerekJ Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Poison spider / insect in the wallet. It bit him. He was not given an anti-venom. Died as a result. Quote

So the spider owned the wallet, was religious and from the wrong side of the tracks? I think you missed my last post! But good try, though! Quote
neilwillis Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 The wallet belonged to a Jehovas witness, who made a living will stating he would refuse a blood transfusion. Fred was seen looking in the wallet by a mugger, who stabbed him, and left poor Fred bleeding in the gutter. The hospital saw the living will in the wallet, and poor Fred was not given the transfusion in accordance with "his" wishes. Eyethenque! Quote
