Well, I just turned 16 -- I am going to buy a car :) I need help though, I want a Japanese car because they seem to be very reliable, I am looking at these cars:

*EDIT* Hows Saab 95?

I am also 6'4.5'' -- if anyone thinks one of the cars above is better then another please please please tell me and if possible give a reason, also I am always open to suggestions of other cars.

I plan to come here before I do each upgrade on w/e car I get so please help me with buying my first car first.

Thank you EXTREMELY much!

If you want a Jap engine, then fit one  :t-up:

Have you tried looking on the Honda CR-V, Toyata RAV-4, Mitzibishi Outlander websites/owners clubs?

Hmm... u sure it was 16 and not 61?  :p

Those are all 4x4 SUV 'Mum on the School Run' type cars - what u thinking man? Reliable?

Hehe, when I was 16 I am sure 'fast', 'loud', and 'low' were top most on my list of must-have features. Infact, they still are! LOL!   :D

Assuming this is a serious question.......

CR-V - highly recommended, although I'm not a fan of the current one's styling. We have one of the last model and its been faultless over 4 1/2 years - and not a bad drive either!

Rav4 - another good buy, but when we tested it we felt it was too "car-like". Depending on your preference this will either be good, or bad!

Outlander? - no idea. Weird looks!

Honda is better than Toyota. Isn't the Outlander a Subaru?

I think you mean the "Outback" Dickie.....

Which is also a restaurant chain in the States.....

And I thought you had to be 17 to drive a car and 16 for a motorbike (upto 50cc).  It's been a long time since I passed my test and it could all be very different by now ???

Get something simple cheap and crappy - mk 1 vw polo for example.  When it breaks learn to fix it yourself, insurance will be cheap and it wont matter when you crash it - as you will.

Best advice so far. My first car (Mk II Escort) cost me 500 quid. About 18 months (and one crash) later, I sold it for about the same.

As has been said, you almost certainly will have an accident in your first couple of years of driving. Do yourself a favour and make it happen in something slow.

First car was a Fiesta Mk1 cost £300. Crashed it within the first few months, fixed it myself cost about £50 in parts. Didn’t have to go to the insurance so it didn’t affect that. Get your no-claims up then start looking at a decent car. I’m now onto a Clio 182, 21 years old and it’s costing me £2100 a year for insurance.

Then the Westy will be finished soon! That’s when the real fun begins. :D

Strewth, IIRC I "only" used to pay £350 or so TPFT on my Fiesta Supersport when I was 18.  :D

Oh, suddenly that makes me feel ancient

Oh *$£@ just realised that was 18 years ago,
