driftawayuk
Buy my unfinished one and you will have all the cash to put throttle bodies or carbs on it !! ....just a thought ....
dano
I did look at yours but it's too near finished for me. I enjoy building things so half the fun for me is putting it all together. I'm going to go to autosport at the weekend and see what Simon Westwood from westfield suggest's. Assuming I can get on the stand as I'm sure it'll be well busy.. Blatman
I know where I can buy some boxes !! Here, perhaps...
dano
That sounds like a plan... Just as long as all those boxes don't add to the price.. May sound silly but I've always wanted to build a westfield and now I finally have enough cash build it I must.
darthurs
Why can't you just pay Westfield the difference in price for the TB's, if it works out at £500 for carbs, then you are only looking at an extra £500 for a basic TB setup. So you are only paying the extra £500 for TB's. You can only ask. Dan
James
Whats wrong with using fords standard fuel injection? Alternatively if you really want carbs I have a pair of 40 dcoe's in my office that are for sale but I havnt got round to putting them on ebay yet, bought from Westfield in july 2004 and only done 300miles and yes I have the recipt. James
I have to admit I didnt relise you lost quite that much power! That is a bit scarey but you could alway's upgrade to TB'S at a layter date and therefore posponing the cost?
adhawkins
I have to admit I didnt relise you lost quite that much power! I think so. Standard 2 litre Zetec is (I think) 120 or 130 BHP. Stick carbs on and that goes up to 150 or 160. Andy
James
Why is the standard ford setup so poor? if theres power to be had you would have thought they would have tapped into it as your going to get simillar figures from TB'S?
adhawkins
Why is the standard ford setup so poor? I'm no expert, but it's presumably because they're tuned more for economy and endurance rather than outright power. When using the standard injection setup, I'm fairly sure you use the Ford ECU, and that can't (AFAIK) be re-mapped or anything. Andy

adhawkins
Economy over all elese by the sounds of it. Crazy!! IMHO That, and strict emissions rules too I would imagine... Bear in mind this is a car sold in the thousands, designed to run for 100,000 miles. The last thing Ford would want is engine failures...
