Nick M Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 Agreed - I had a 416GSi. Handling definitely a bit on the dodgy side The 220 was no better Lift off oversteer and a tendency for the back end to "hop" out of line on bumpy roads. Did it once on a slight left hand bend which was quick but which had a bump or two on it - found myself sideways at about 70mph and had to engage brain to over-rule my foot to ensure I didn't lift !! Not nice ! Quote
markg Posted July 19, 2003 Posted July 19, 2003 first was a datsun cherry 1200, cost £40 and £11 to get through mot, after many landrovers i bought a nissan silvia turbo, good fun in the wet Quote
Bananaman Posted July 19, 2003 Posted July 19, 2003 The 220 was no better Nor was the 216Gti, got that backwards on a roundabout once. Quote

D Reg - the OLD D reg But it did have an 8 track Mine always went sideways, round roundabouts, on the straight - everywhere! Ever followed an old mini? Next 1380 engined Clubman road/rally that one went a bit straighter Company cars: Bedford MK in dark green and black Landrover LWB also in dark green and black Scimitar - no not the car, the CVR(T) again in green n black Chieftain Mk 5 - guess what - it was green n black too Then a 1 tonne Landrover - guess what colours! I ended up with a 1 horse power black thing - it was a horse! cornered like s**t, but had excellent brakes All the others fade from memory cuz I have a Westie now! Quote
