1, Mini clubman estate  Lasted 6 weeks , ended up in a ditch

2, Mini

3, 1.6 cavalier (old rwd type)

4,Opel Monza (Good fun)

5, 2.8 Granada Ghia x MK2

6,Manta GTE

7,Monza Gse

8,Manta GTE ( i can see a trend here )

9,Mercedes 230TE

10,Mercedes E300 Diesel Estate

11,Honda HRV  Current family Hack

12,Isuzu Trooper 3.0TD current company hack

13,SeiW Zetec  in build  (current financial drain)

And out of all of them the 230 TE was probable the best all rounder , felt like it was milled from a block of steel, last class of merc to be built by engineers rather than accountants.

ps sorry to any accountants here present!

1) Fiat Panda, Y reg, 900cc. Marginally preferable to taking the bus. Less fun than bashing head against wall. Mum's old car. Group 1 insurance.

2) Rover 216S, G reg. Quieter, very comfy. I bought most of my tools during ownership of this car. That's not a coincidence ;)

3) Nissan 100NX, L reg. I liked this car a lot and was sorry to see it go  :(

4) Subaru Impreza Turbo, V reg. Fantastic machine, modified, 3.5 years and 54000 miles later it's still the best car I've ever driven. (Note to self, check prices for equal length headers, suspension upgrade, 6 pot brakes...)

5) Westfield SEW, '99 Q reg, VX XE 2.0 engine on 45's. Great fun when it's not in bits dripping a mixture of fluids on the garage floor. My toolbox is starting to swell ;)

Told you not to mention the Fiat Pandas Chris. Still, I see Andy is a convert. They are only marginally quick than a bus but you can keep your foot planted hard on the horses  :arse:

everywhere and are good fun especially in the wet on 145 tyres made of wood :D

1990 Rover 416GTi - Stop laughing at the back, it had the 1600cc Honda motor and it went like stink, I used to have all sorts of fun blowing away max power types in a Rover with alloys, the only problem was it suffered from vicous lift off oversteer, just ask the armco...

Agreed - I had a 416GSi. Handling definitely a bit on the dodgy side - Ouch

Nah, K series didn't make it into the 416 until the model year after (K-reg I guess, appropriately enough)...
