JonnyBoy
i was going to put a sexual comment in... but that probably wouldnt be of any help. definately depends on how competent the wife is behind the wheel.... plus, if she likes it... instead of asking for that new kitchen shes always wanted.. it'll be an extra 50bhp for the motor
barney
If SWMBO wants to take a friend (fermale) out, definitely let her go. She is showing a positive interest and if anyting bad should happen, the guilt will pay for any number of upgrades just what i was thinking... Richard M Green
So what is the collective opinion on the wisdom of letting one's ex-girlfriend continue to drive the car in the occasional sprint and/or hillclimb? Oh and any Speed Series regulars can feel free to comment without fear of retribution, 'cos she's 8000 miles away so won't hear you anyway....... Mark Stanton
Thank god she's not competing at Llandow this year with all that BHP you got Mr G she beat me there last year Got her back at Llys Y Fran though more corners involved
Richard M Green
She of course, claims that Llandow had little to do with power and was just due to skill. I of course couldn't possibly comment! Oh hang on; yes I can comment now, I'm a free man..... Yeah she's right it was skill Mark. Sorry mate!

7SE
The former: the more interest she takes in the car, the more money she will allow you to spend on it Is that the answer you were looking for Mr Westy But I've just bought her a new dress, doesn't that count for some upgrades ?? 7SE
Can't you adjust the pedals and/or seat so that your better half can't drive it (You will appear disappointed obviously) No, her legs are longer than mine Still, she's out there in it now. Every time the phone rings I have a heart attack
Richard M Green
Hey Mark I've just had a text message from 'Vegas - apprently it's quite strange what web sites she surfs when she's bored of casinos and shopping....... well anyway having checked out a few of those web-sites (snigger) she casually glanced across at the Boardroom. Thankfully she can't remember her password so couldn't post her own message containing heaps of abuse, instead the text simply said that "you're obviously afraid of girl power and we'll go head to head when I return" unquote. In the words of the movie: "Gutsiest move Mav......"
Mark Stanton
Bring it on I'm not afraid* *Which may also be read as worried of Warley
Mitchamidilly
Still a Newbie but I was discussing throttle bodies tonight with my wife and the extra expense involved. I got the thumbs up (think she just got bored) on the condition she has a Winter coat! No fur cos she is a Veggie but I wager will still cost circa £300. Is this the sign of things to come? Just need an engine now, and, and, and, and, and... More bits!
Richard M Green
No, the way to extract approval for maximum expenditure is simply to say "look if we spend these x thousands on a new engine you'll have so much power that you'll easily beat the Club Chairman at Llandow next summer". That way you'll get a set of nice shiny new Jenvey TBs for Christmas - it worked for me! Really can't think why Nic and I split up!!!!........ ...... and that was a rhetorical question, before anyone chips in with any witty answers. Mrs Westy
Not...on both counts... A millington engine would equate to an awful lot of pairs of shoes though
