To check the welding items and workload.” I doubt they'll send you such info, in case you use it to fabricate your own etc. Not unusual for manufacutures. How old is your car? (Hint- it's not in your profile). Later cars have the bosses already welded in.

I was hoping to get some sort of response.
KevanP
I bought my SEIW cage direct from caged laser. It didn't come with fitting instructions, so suspect none are available. But to be honest it's not difficult. If it helps, it's a 2 person job ideally, could do it on your own, but not easy. The side protection bars are supplied as bolt in, but I welded mine. Didn't fancy drilling the chassis rails and felt they would be stronger welded. Otherwise take your time, dry fit the cage a couple of time before you drill the bolt holes to attach and all should be fine. I done mine in a leisurely weekend.

SteveB21
Hi Ricca - I was in touch with Westfield last week and they have had problems with their sales & service emails - I will PM you a contact email.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Cage fitting instructions for cars with bosses, (I think!) are also tucked into the Aerorace Build manual, available in the Downloads section of the forum. Here An electronic copy of the old photocopied instructions does pop up on the forum periodically, this I believe covers none-boss chassis. But, it's old, and I have no idea if still relevant to the currently available cages.

Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO
Sorry to advise things aren't any better since Jan 2024 at WCL. I tried to order a part on Mon (plastic heel rest- mine's been cracked for years and covering it with Alloy has turned it into a branding iron for my left for on Euroblats!)- The part is £19.99 and the only postage option is UPS at circa £10 which is hefty for a small, light item. I though stuff it, we need to support the new business etc, and went to pay with the paypal option shown and it failed. I got distracted with work etc and went to try again yesterday with the same issue. I therefore called and was pleasantly suprised the phone was promptly answered (Ed, I think was his name), however he couldn't put me through to parts as they were busy packing or something like that. He offered to help and explained the postage charge includes a surcharge for picking and they only use UPS. They don't use Paypal, but haven't been able to get their Webmaster to remove the option from the system. He then advised they can't take my order over the phone due to GDPR issues with card numbers! Hence I had to order via the web shop at circa 9:40am. Ed stayed on the phone at my request as I did it and he confirmed the order. I shortly received payment confirmation by e-mail and at the end of the day UPS advised it was arriving today- This morning, I've had an e-mail update from UPS- So it's not even left WCL yet. I'm glad it's not urgent! update at 16:50, 11-7-2024- Update 09:29 12-7-2024 It look like I will actually get my item! 13:43 12/07/2024 It's arrived and it's the correct part, suitably packed etc. So not as disappointing as others have had, however communication is key and we're all after the Amazon next day delivery service. If the website and subsequent e-mails advised 1-2 days delivery it would be clearer. When you're charged £10 for UPS for a item thats a few hundred grams, you expect next day!
Craigieboy
I'm sorry to say that I've been having the same issues with them too, though as being new here I wasn't keen on voicing my frustration publicly, but maybe that's the best thing. I had to cancel an order last month for a set of clear lenses and 2 stickers. I was paying well over the odds, but thought I was doing the right thing by supporting them as I wish them every success and want them to succeed. I waited a full month, without success and eventually had to sadly cancel the order. I got my bits elsewhere for the price of the Westfield postage. I've now ordered side screens from them and hopefully things will be better, however yesterday an incomplete set of fittings arrived out of the blue for them, which has prompted another phone call to them, with no resolution just a promise to call me back... I understand that they are busy and appear to be under staffed, I just hope things get better soon. It's not great that I'm now looking elsewhere for items that I would happily buy from them if the support was there, again I want to be part of a successful Westfield family.

KevanP
So sad to see the continuation of similar problems. As a Westfield owner, I just love the cars, but a lack of support from the manufacturer isn't going to do the business any favours. So sad to see, surely it's in their interest to sort it out? Couldn't agree more. Twice I called today and was promised a call back on each occasion, needless to say I'm still waiting. Oh and waiting on call backs from last month and replies to two emails. I not asking difficult questions and I'm looking to spend money. Just a pity they don't take notice of the forum, I'd imagine we all want them to do well.

I would imagine someone from WC will be watching the forums. All new starts go through hell at times, fingers crossed they get it all sorted out and it's just a staffing or logistics issue. Sounds to me as if they don't have either the quantity of staff or quality of staff. They must have invested serious money into the venture so let's hope they come up trumps in time. Can you imagine a world without any new Westfields? Wonder what that would do to used car prices and desirability?

It's been the same person answering the phone the last few times and also dealing with my parts enquiry, so it appears they have a lot of plates spinning at once. They are always very pleasant on the phone and like I said wish them evey success we all have a vested interest. Better news is my side screens should be here next week or the week after. 🙂

The weirdest feeling in a Tiger once, like being drowned by air! It's like an air version of what I imagine waterboarding to feel like, not nice at all! 😂
