KugaWestie Posted February 15, 2021 Author Posted February 15, 2021 I dropped the tunnel panel off at the trimmer today and he seemed happy and keen to crack on with it, hopefully I should have it back by the weekend. I have started to look at trimming around the door apertures and cill area now. I made up some fibreglass panels ages ago for this area. I will probably tweak one of the panels I made, but tonight I have bonded the first one in at the front of the passenger door.
Alan Cutler (Adge) - Dorset AO Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Like the tunnel cover Gary. Always impressed by by your approach, keep up the good work.

KugaWestie Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 Fibreglass panels bonded into position around the passenger door aperture and cill. Once I have done both sides of the car I will then glass over all the joints to add some strength
corsechris Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Those shots bring back some memories from when I built my fake snake! Those parts add a lot of stiffness to that section too. Onward & upward!
KugaWestie Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 Drivers side panels around the door bonded in and ready for glassing together. Passenger side partially glassed together, bit more to do when I do the drivers side. It’s firmed up nicely now.
KugaWestie Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 I had a day off work today so spent some time in the garage. First off was to glass the panels together around the drivers door area. Then I set about fitting some carpet. So passenger footwell vertical bulkhead panel, outer side panel and tunnel side panel are done, and I have made a start around the door area. I finished the day off with a trip to the trimmer to collect my tunnel.
Gary Taylor Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 That tunnel has come out lovely , not that we would expect anything else.

Doug Dastardly Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 I understand why you would put it to a pro trimmer but did you fancy trying it yourself? You're obviously not one to outsource too many jobs and seem to tackle most things?

KugaWestie Posted February 21, 2021 Author Posted February 21, 2021 I spent an hour chasing an electrical gremlin this afternoon, hopefully that’s put to bed now. Once that was out of the way I completed the carpet fitting around the door areas. Then finished off by slotting the tunnel into position. It still needs fixing but that won’t take long.
KugaWestie Posted February 21, 2021 Author Posted February 21, 2021 I think it’s time to book the IVA test
Simon Marks. Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 The jobs list must be getting shorter! Well Done.
