Lovely V8 rumble just on tickover! Impressive gains on measured noise as well, you’ve every right to be pleased IMHO.

Drivers side front wheel arch undersealed.

Whilst out with the underseal I did all around the inside of the front nose to get rid of the faded grp look.

Next was to have a good tidy up inside the car and dig out the temporary dash

A quick fire up of the car showed that all the instruments (warning lights not wired yet) were still working, so they have survived months of dust and filler which was pleasing!

I have started having a look at wiring in all the lights. So I test (temporary) wired The drivers side headlight and indicator.

I am waiting for waterproof connectors to arrive in the post now.

Are you going to build shrouding around the radiator to help cooling? no oil cooler?

I seems to remeber than most cobra kit can struggle with cooler at times, no?

That’s all stuff for the future as I see it. It might cool perfectly well and not need anything. I won’t know that until it has had some use.

will you need reflectors too or are the light casings sufficient?

My understanding of the IVA rules (and I did have to look at this for my XI to go through IVA) is that you DO need separate reflectors for IVA, BUT most of the inspectors are fairly relaxed about how  big they are, and where they should be mounted. I was advised to take the pair which Westfield supplied with my kit with me, and ask the inspector where he wanted them fitted. In my case though, I forgot to take them! the inspector was very helpful, and explained that the regulations required reflectors, but didn't say how big they had to be. He went away and came back with 2 tiny self-adhesive ones, and asked me to stick them on the back where he indicated.

They do of course carry out a safety function if a rear bulb should fail at night.

Yes reflectors will be needed. I have some to put on, just have not decided on a position for them yet

A few hours spent wiring again today. I now have a complete set of working lights. That’s sidelights, indicators/side repeaters, brake, headlights, main beam, reverse and fog. Very pleased to have knocked that one over.

During the day I had to turn the car around to work on the passenger side. So I could not resist any longer and put the refurbed wheels on the drivers side before turning it around. The car is sitting high at present as I have got the suspension wound right up.

Other news is I met up with  local trimmer that I last used when I built the Westy. Colours chosen and 2 large leather hides will be ordered on Tuesday!
