Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 That looks so much better, have you shortened the tail pipes, too? (Most of the other photos with the ASBO pipes sticking out make it look like Mad Max’s wheel barrow!

Indeed I have, the tailpipes don’t stick out as far and come out at a better angle now in my opinion
ludo Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Well let's all agree that while the builder/owner opinion is important, it's us, the peanut gallery, that matter most! please post pics for feedback 😄

KugaWestie Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 Today was exhaust day. I picked up the freshly tigged rear sections this morning I cleaned up the welds on the tailpipe joints Then I fabricated a bar to act as a rear section support. I primed and sprayed it. Then I fitted it to the car
KugaWestie Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 I spent a fair amount on time positioning the mid section cherry bombs and the new rear sections. Once happy I cleaned up all the joints and assembled the system on the car, whilst fire pasting all the joints at the same time. The eagle eyed amongst you will also notice that I undersealed the bottom of the boot panel before final assembly. The rear mounts And a shot of the full system
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 So much better looking than before!
KugaWestie Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 Now for the all important piece, the sound check. On the system before I decided to modify it I was recording around 100db just on tickover. This has now come down to around 87db. Both readings were taken in the garage with the car in the same position and the doors open. A massive improvement and one that I hope is enough to get me through IVA. So how does it sound now? Lovely in my opinion, nice and deep but not harsh loud like it did before. YOU REALLY NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS THROUGH HEADPHONES TO GET THE FULL SOUND, SPEAKERS DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE

Gary Taylor Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 What an improvement looks and sounds lovely, great work

All in that system has come in just under £500, I reckon that’s about a third of the cost of having one made for the car, so I am well pleased with it.
