After IVA

Any particular reason? I've seen a few full bodied cars do this and never realised why. Does it not give the impression of an unfinished car?

Yes I don’t want to knock a nice paint job whilst finishing the build working in a single garage.

I completed the rear lamps today by fitting the drivers side combined unit and also the number plate light. Nothing is wired in yet though.

Next was to fit the headlight bowls.

Followed by the headlights, again nothing wired in.

Great work and it’s always good to start adding and fitting parts. Looking at your rear end , those are a fair set of tail pipes in diameter, only noticed it when you see the other furniture added

keep up the good work

Thanks Gary.

The plan is to reduce the size of the tailpipe tips as the are a bit ASBO really.

I intend to replace the two rear silencers with some larger oval ones as it is just too loud at present. When I do this I will sort the tips out at the same time. The exit pipe from the silencers to the tailpipe is 2.5”, but the tips are 4” at present!!

Today was time to play with a high value item (four figures 😳)

So first up was some setting out and chain drilling of the body.

Then a test of position with a steel rule to make sure I was in the right place for the upright to land on the chassis fixing area

First upright through

I repeated on the drivers side and then we were home and dry

Cast your mind back to when I adjusted the body to make the passenger door fit better. I was expecting to have to adjust a small area of the body to the screen where I forced the body into a new position. This proved to to be the case, so some local filling to make up levels so the body actually hits the rubber seal on the screen

Yep.

All handmade, solid copper frame coated with chrome. Only one supplier makes them in the uk, they supply all the kit manufacturers, I had to wait over 12 months to get mine, so you are over a barrel unfortunately!
