I'm sure the purists wouldn't approve, but I'm a fan of using things like boot & bonnet struts to make life a bit easier. Did the same on my last few kits.

Absolutely. If there's a "modern" or better way of doing something, that doesn't take away from the core driving, owning and operating pleasure of the cars, or better still improves it, then 100% go for it!

Its nowhere near a pure car so it does not matter to me 😉

Pure replicas can be fantastic, no doubt about it, but the hard truth is, given some of the cars we love to have replicas of, they were often quite compromised for various reasons, some good, (for use in Motorsport) some bad, (Countach interiors and HVAC!) so while as a display piece, they work well, if you actually want a usable car to take on the road or track, there are lots of beneficial improvements that can often be made, if done sensibly, that don’t destroy the character and look of the cars we love.

Absolutely.  I put quite an array of creature comforts in the Stratos copy I built and quite a few folk tended to look at me a bit askance for that. I saw no problem fitting AC to a car notorious for being a sweatbox for example. Funny enough, the majority now get built with it as standard.

I have turned my attention now to the rear passenger corner of the car.

 

First up was to whip the wheel off and tidy up the underside of the arch.

I popped the wheel back on

With that done I have started to shape the previously altered rear wing to match the other side

Thanks. It feels like a never ending struggle at present which is why I decided to underseal a wheel arch as that was a job and finish item!

More work on the rear arch.

 

The back half of it is now taking a nice shape

More sanding and filling on the rear arch.

 

I have also been trying to compare side to side which is quite difficult. The arches are never ever in a million years going to be exactly the same as they were so different originally. 
 

But I think I am almost at the point where it will not be noticeable unless looking for it when it is fully sprayed

I also think the difference in colours between the original red gelcoat and the white filler does not help as it stands out so much

Looks like a good point to chuck a quick coat of primer on it so you can see what’s what.

Yep that’s my plan. It needs sanding back again and then I will prime up the passenger side. The drivers side is still unsanded gelcoat at present so will have to stay red for now

After some more filling this morning I sanded that back this afternoon.

 

I blew all the dust off with the compressor and gave it all a wipe over with panel wipe.

 

I decided to put 2 coats of Reface (2k liquid filler) on the wing to see how it looks. Once this has gone off I will sand it back and see if anymore filler work is needed.
