If there's a "modern" or better way of doing something, that doesn't take away from the core driving, owning and operating pleasure of the cars, or better still improves it, then 100% go for it! Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 4, 2020 Share Posted March 4, 2020 Pure replicas can be fantastic, no doubt about it, but the hard truth is, given some of the cars we love to have replicas of, they were often quite compromised for various reasons, some good, (for use in Motorsport) some bad, (Countach interiors and HVAC!) so while as a display piece, they work well, if you actually want a usable car to take on the road or track, there are lots of beneficial improvements that can often be made, if done sensibly, that don’t destroy the character and look of the cars we love. I put quite an array of creature comforts in the Stratos copy I built and quite a few folk tended to look at me a bit askance for that. I saw no problem fitting AC to a car notorious for being a sweatbox for example. Funny enough, the majority now get built with it as standard. First up was to whip the wheel off and tidy up the underside of the arch. KugaWestie Posted March 12, 2020 Author Share Posted March 12, 2020 More sanding and filling on the rear arch. I have also been trying to compare side to side which is quite difficult. The arches are never ever in a million years going to be exactly the same as they were so different originally. But I think I am almost at the point where it will not be noticeable unless looking for it when it is fully sprayed I also think the difference in colours between the original red gelcoat and the white filler does not help as it stands out so much Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yep that’s my plan. It needs sanding back again and then I will prime up the passenger side. KugaWestie Posted March 14, 2020 Author Share Posted March 14, 2020 After some more filling this morning I sanded that back this afternoon. I blew all the dust off with the compressor and gave it all a wipe over with panel wipe. I decided to put 2 coats of Reface (2k liquid filler) on the wing to see how it looks.
