KugaWestie
And this is the end result. The lettering is actually white, the blue is just a protective coating that needs washing off when I eventually fit them. I also purchased some centre spinners. These will be fitted after the IVA test They are not perfect but they are a massive improvement and have come in at approximately half the cost of a set of new ones

KugaWestie
Boot hinges loosely fitted tonight, for a change it was a relatively straight forward job 😂 Working nicely I also bonded my new front end brackets onto the inside of the body. Once these are cured I will glass over the body end, and then drill and tap a bolt into the chassis on the vertical side of the bracket..

KugaWestie
Another job today was the boot lock. I can confirm that a 6’3” slightly lardy male can fit inside the boot, just!
KugaWestie
I have been fretting about swinging the doors for a long time, but it is a job that I could put off no longer! First up is the drivers door, so here it is just mocked up with clamps Operation test I am really pleased to have got it operational. Now everything needs positioning and fixing properly including trying to achieve a nice even gap around the door
corsechris
Hinge action looks good. When doing panel gaps on my last build, I followed advice from the kit manufacturer who told me to screw the panels together, fill and blend across the joins to get good lines then run a router along the gap line. Sounds brutal, but it works really well. I’ll see if I can find some pictures to show what I’m blathering on about.
