I applied a load of carbond all over the steel and underside of the housing, and then positioned and clamped it.

Bonnet now hinged. The hinges are only tack welded so need completing, then cleaning and painting. It’s taken me a few hours to sort it out as the bonnet front edge kept binding on the nose. I got there in the end though

The panel gaps need some attention but at least it hinges

A few months ago I managed to get my hands on a cheap set of second hand Halibrand replica wheels.

They were cheap for a reason though..........

Two damaged wheels and all four in need of some proper TLC

I could could not resist seeing what the future might hold though

They were a bit of a gamble really, but I am glad I was brave enough to take a chance

The first job was to get the tyres off them and see if I could get the two damaged Rims straightened out.

This was pretty successful

I've just uploaded an image to your thread OK so it must be a personal limit. Maybe try again today?

Yes he’s been a naughty boy. But I’ve just upped the limit 👍

With the wheels all split, I spent a fair while getting the worst of the grime off the rims.

Once they were all cleaned off, I gave them to a wheel refurb specialist local to where I work to do their magic.

I supplied them with new bolts and nuts as well.

I called in to see how progress was going, and the centres had been dipped, blasted and powder coated.

Whilst there we discussed tyres and I said no problem I will get some fitted once the wheels are done. The specialist pulled a face at me and said they would rather fit them, so I ordered some tyres and dropped them off
