If you can confirm the place is not needed I can add our car on the waiting list if he’s still interested

@simon walton I'm assuming you've tried to contact Dan directly via email, too? - he's showing as not having visited the forum since the 10th of Feb.

If not, I'm happy to forward on a message to the email address we have on file for him.

But I think you're right in giving it one more week, before offering the place elsewhere.

@simon walton I mentioned this early on, but do you/will you have the route in .gpx for loading to satnav? IME so much easier to keep us all together if others have the route as well as the leader

The adventure starts tomorrow. I’ve packed the sunscreen in case the severe weather warnings are wrong!! Checked the car out. Haven’t bothered cleaning it as what’s the point as it’s going to get dirty again en route. Despite the atrocious weather forecast we are going in the Westfield with Pete acting as co-pilot. 1st leg is 265 miles from mid Lincolnshire to Llanberis in Snowdonia. About 5hrs of mostly relatively boring roads. Meeting up with the others for a meal at the Royal Victoria Hotel and looking forward to some ‘proper’ driving over the weekend.

I'm still vacillating on the Westy or my other convertible. Current mountain forecast for Snowdonia for Sat is 100% chance of 22mm of rain with possible local flash flooding 😯 Final call in the morning......

Part 1

In the end there were 5 cars but only one of them was a Westfield. The pre departure weather forecast was absolutely horrendous so the sensible ones came in their Tin tops.
For us, the trip started on the Friday with a 240 mile trip from Lincolnshire to North Wales. Weather was dodgy but started off without roof but soon had to revert to plan b and put the half hood on. Left home at 10 and with bad traffic etc we arrived at about 5.30 😁

The others we already there so we all got together for an evening meal at the hotel.

Saturday was forecast to be interesting but not to be perturbed we simply put on the half hood again 🤪

The route was split into 4 - before cake & coffee, before lunch, before afternoon cake and tea and before evening meal. Roughly 200 miles of fantastic puddle splashing.

Surprisingly, even with Storm Antoni, the roof came off for some of the afternoon. The others were probably relieved that they had come in cars with roofs!!

Sunday was again planned around 4 routes totalling 200 miles. So after a full English, we set off again but without the roof on (until a downpour made us change our plans).

On Monday, it was time to come back to the real world and in typical style, the weather was fine do no roof for the long trip home.

Can't decide which sounded better - The Westfield's V8 or the Jag's V6 in sport mode...
