Labrat
I may not have been out hunting cake in my Westfield today (sorry) but I ended up with a fantastic cake from the charity raffle at the clay shoot. It's delicious! 10p for reference. 4

Thank you @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative for leading the way on the “food and drink marathon with driving inbetween” 🤣 Will be along to another in the future for sure! 5

I like that term, Tony, and I hope you and everyone else that joins us feels welcomed and looked after. We all met at Hulme End Tea Junction, it made a nice change to meet there, as we drove through Matlock Bath all the scooters were gathering for a large meet, which was lovely to see. Hulme End We sat overlooking the car park First meal of the day The best bit about meeting at Hulme End is that we get to drive the Crowdecote road on the way out. You can see right up it before you drive it and I could see a milk tanker on it's way down, so we all patiently waited for it to pass, then it was brrrum......ha until there was a cyclist on one of the really nice tight bends and I took that at 1 mph, never mind. Hat off to the cyclist for attempting such a hill, I have never seen one on there before, although we cycle the opposite side of the valley which is fairly tough. The next challenge was on the lovely twisty Miller's Dale road. There were a lot of fresh twigs on the road and I was thinking that there would be something big ahead of me, then an oncoming car flashed me.....sure enough a tree had been bought down onto the road. Luckily we could get past and we all agreed later that it was probably a hay lorry that bought it down. The country roads really are the most dangerous. For me the challenges make the driving interesting and we had a good, flowing run on quiet roads meaning that we arrived at the Traveller's Rest in perfect time. ABC had told me earlier that he was having problems with his fuel pump and he would meet us there, and sure enough he and Peter were waiting for us. Our new member, Tony, had only owned his car for 6 weeks and everyone wanted to offer advice so it was not long before the bonnet came off, to show the 1.8 Zetec on Webers. It was a lovely car, purchased from Toybox and Tony was pleased with it. Very soon Paul took his bonnet off as he also has a Zetec on Webers and the knowledge flowed, how lovely. The Traveller's Rest Paul bought his Australian nephew, David, along for a ride and he looked like he was really enjoying it. It was great for us to be able to learn what life is like on the other side of the world too, very interesting, a pleasure to meet you sir. After a hearty lunch, or a kids one if your name is Chris 😁, the two Billy's and Paul and David carried on in a Northerly direction and we went cake hunting. With a lack of Andy's present we took advantage and headed for Chatsworth to see who could get the biggest portion. Chatsworth car park I was guarding our '4 pick and mix' cakes ABC definitely won the 'largest slice' prize Chris was pacing himself for the large meal waiting at home later Glynn and Tony were right up there with ABC hogging the big slices of roulade Oh we have fun over these cakes, they are unbeatable and if they are good enough for the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire then they will do for us. It has been another great day out, lovely views, roads, even some cow poo to moan about, we have had it all THANKS FOR COMING EVERYONE XXX 11
