Im 45 and have no kids so not pretending to be an expert However I'd suggest whatever your shortlist becomes, you check the Ncap test scores. Some of the cheaper/plasticey cars score quite poorly, particularly if they are older. My first car was a VW jetta - not a cool as a golf so cheaper to insure. geoffd Posted July 5, 2022 Share Posted July 5, 2022 To close out my choice .... I found a nice Fiesta. It's a 3 door in white, which is what my grandson wanted. The engine is 1.25 Zetec,and it drives nicely without being a ball of fire!
