shrops-paul Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Hi. Im 45 and have no kids so not pretending to be an expert However I'd suggest whatever your shortlist becomes, you check the Ncap test scores. Some of the cheaper/plasticey cars score quite poorly, particularly if they are older. My first car was a VW jetta - not a cool as a golf so cheaper to insure. It was a great car and easy to get spares form the local scrappy. https://www.euroncap.com/en Quote
geoffd Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 To close out my choice .... I found a nice Fiesta. It's a 3 door in white, which is what my grandson wanted. The engine is 1.25 Zetec, and it drives nicely without being a ball of fire! Insurance is £1219, and won't go up when he passes his test. 1 Quote
