Have been speaking to Christoph A W Bettag, who many will know already for their super carbon fibre products. Christoph was the German distributor for Westfield previously, although really, they were much, much more than simply a distributor; not only stocking more than the factory used to, but designing and making their own parts too. (Some of which were so good, the factory rather cheekily copied!!)

 

They even make complete, brand new bodywork, in carbon fibre; it's subtly different, (well, improved), from the WSC Ltd design, so no IP issues what so ever.

Yes, we have a thread here from the start of the month:

 

 

I've made contact, but other than a promise to keep us in the loop and tentative plans to speak directly, there's nothing actual concrete to report, hence I hadn't commented.

Same people running it again? I wonder if Simon is going to give me the full set of bodywork he owes me from my starter kit.

I would suspect that Simon and Mark have skills that the new owner needs to get things running again. I would feel the same as you in the same circumstances and they will have to face the issue head on otherwise they will start with a lot of bad will from those who lost out considerably.

I'm just glad i'm only out a few thousand, not the tens of thousands others are!

Seems odd that their website still has old 'news' and 'about' info, too. That's the first area I look at when checking out a new company, wonder when they'll start trading?

Westfield Sportscars Ltd customers

 

The owners of the new company Westfield Chesil Ltd, understand that a number of customers of Westfield Sportscars Ltd (WSC) (now in administration) lost their deposits, interim or payments for partswhen that company became insolvent.

 

We want to express our sympathy for the personal financial loss felt by the individuals affected.

 

However, having had a number of customers writing to demand compensation or fulfilment of their WSC order from the new company, we felt it necessary to clarify the situation.    The owners of Westfield Chesil Ltd have no connection to, or relationship with, WSC or its previous owner.  Our purchase involved buying only the physical and intellectual assets. We did not, and could not, take on the trade of the old business, including contracts, as operations had ceased some months ago.  Westfield Chesil Ltd cannot be held responsible for any liabilities of WSC.

 

Our new company bought these assets with the aim of revitalising two much loved UK marques that had fallen on hard times. The aim of Westfield Chesil Ltd is to build a strong and sustainable business.  To achieve that, a lot of hard work, time and money will be required and we are fortunate to have the support of a number of key employees, suppliers and dealers. We will be announcing details of Westfield Chesil’s launch plans over the coming weeks.

 

Although we do not details of every specific unfulfilled order, we would be grateful if you can give us time to look into this.

The new Westfield-Chesil company have taken on Mark Walker and Simon Westwood (both ex directors of WSC Ltd) as employees, they certainly have overall knowledge and experience of both marques, to assist the new company, however, perhaps not specific order details for each and every item - as frustrating as it is, it will take the new owners time to organise and set-up.

 

As noted, the new company do not have responsibility for the liabilities of the previous WSC Ltd and relationships with supply chain and customer base will need to be rebuilt by the new team.  All this will certainly take time.

Hi there all. Has anybody had any communication with the new Westfield company recently? Just wondering if they are up and running and open for business again 🤔?

Supposedly Westfield have a stand at the NEC Classic Car Show this weekend. I'll be there on Saturday so will check it out and report back unless anyone beats me to it...
