I have a bit more time for Alistair Campbell now he's not toadying up to Blair. And irrespective of that, I think it's an interesting piece.

Like Blair, Campbell should be serving time for war crimes. Only thing I want to hear about either of them is date of death, ideally after a long and painful illness.

Yeah I am not in any way condoning his past crimes. On this particular current subject he seems to have first hand experience which gives us some insight, although how much of it is fact and how much might be... lets call it embellishment... is up for debate as always.

Accuracy of reporting is a whole other debate to which there can be no right answer until we have the benefit of hindsight and even then, it's rarely satisfactory which is really very depressing...

Long overdue a reset if you ask me. “Civilisation” really isn’t working all that well.

There was a well presented piece on Radio 4 'Today' this morning from Justin Bronk of the Royal United Services Institute explaining why it would be a bad idea to install a no-fly zone. Go to 54m 30s in and you'll hear for yourself.

All makes perfect sense, to an academic I suppose, but it must be hard for those on the ground to differentiate between the results of aircraft dropping bombs, and missiles.

Lots more anti aircraft and anti missile defences needed. Damn shame Israel are blocking Ukraine getting Iron Dome.

You’d think there would be some spare Novichok lying around the Kremlin that could be put in the Samovar.

I see Russia have, as expected, stolen all the leased airliners they had and walked over the Cape Town Convention, so that’s them out of civil aviation outside a very limited range of destinations.

Also saw that Lloyds had de-registered all Russian owned super-yachts, so that’ll make life awkward for them for a short while.
