Bunty
Hi everyone, just joined the site and am starting to look for a Westfield to mainly use for track days and a little bit on the road 😊 I used to have a mega blade a long time ago and have been out of the car scene for a while. But now am starting to get pretty excited about owning one again! This time I would like a car engine , probably 2.0 with 150-200bhp . Nothing that I have to stress about to much - just use and tinker with! Any way , just wanted to say hi!
Kingster
Welcome aboard. We have a pretty active track day group on here, so will be good to have another join in. Whereabouts are you based?

Bunty
Thank you ! I’m in Tring, Hertfordshire so lucky to have a good few tracks dotted about within an hour or two from me . I have my eye on a xe powered car at the moment so o think that would be a good base to start from?

Mole
A few of us are running zetecs or duratecs which would give you the power you are looking for and if looked after will give good reliability and great fun on track and easy to maintain
Bunty
Thanks guys! After the brief looking I have done it looks the the duratecs are a bit more expensive? I would absolutely love a duratec/ zetec or xe but I only have a £10k budget and found an xe wide body with trailer for £10k. It looks like that package with a duratec would be a fair bit more? And I guess a zetec would be as well?
Euan Hoosearmy
Welcome aboard, there's been a few Silvertop Zetecs around at close to £10k. There was a lovely looking 1.8 that went just before Xmas that was listed on here at £9500. I paid a little over 10k for a 2L Zetec just over a month ago. Assume prices will rise a bit when the temperatures do. Last dyno run done on it was 160bhp, so it's in quite a mild state of tune. It still shifts! 😁 Someone like Toybox are unlikely have a Zetec in your price range as they tend to upgrade them before they sell them on, so their cars are more expensive than private sellers. You just have to keep hunting and be prepared to travel. I found mine (see image) on AutoTrader... I really didn't expect to find Westfields on there! Bunty
Thanks, would you say it’s worth going for a Ford over an xe engine? I’m undecided so far and just want something that’s fast enough and not highly strung !
Mole
Get to meet up with your local club members and look at some cars..and see what you do and don't like..
Richard (OldStager)
Speaking as an aged engined car, mine is more than quick enough for road use, don’t forget these are really light cars and as such you don’t need huge horsepower to get a shift on. In fact it’s hard not to speed when the mood takes me .
