British gp *spoiler*

So there they were, hammer and tongs. Lewis tries the inside, brakes (or eases of the throttle) as late as possible, runs wide and hits Max who had assumed he wasn't there. Racing incident imo.

My thoughts Max does not like others being as aggressive as he is, the other drivers have now learned what Max is like and give him the required room to avoid an off, when another driver is equally aggressive he can't handle it.  Had Max been overtaking Max then the accident would have been bigger.

the other thing I'd like to see is some line overlays. I know everyone keeps harping on about not being at the apex, I'll be honest and say I'm not sure where the apex of copse is but I'm not sure they'd actually reached it when the accident happened.

I remember my very first go on a track and my initial line was around the inside of a corner, the instructor pointed this out and told me where to aim,

Hamilton's pre accident line, to me, looked like he was aiming for an apex, as did Max's, to keep saying Lewis had room to his right is not relevant if they have not yet reached the apex.

I think this penalty and most of the penalties from the last race are just wrong, they are both pointing towards if you can get on the outside of your opponent then the corner is going to be yours.

I'me saying racing incident , I think if you read the FIA rules on overtaking on corners it lends itself slightly to Lewis's advantage which makes the stewrds decision confusing unless they took other things into consideration eg Lewis would not had made the corner at the closing speed without the contact

From the fia

“The stewards reviewed video and telemetry evidence,” the stewards said. “Cars 33 [Verstappen] and 44 [Hamilton] entered Turn 9 with Car 33 in the lead and Car 44 slightly behind and on the inside.

“Car 44 was on a line that did not reach the apex of the corner, with room available to the inside.

“When Car 33 turned into the corner, Car 44 did not avoid contact and the left front of Car 44 contacted the right rear of Car 33. Car 44 is judged predominantly at fault.”

... and its racing we want to see not a procession

Which is precisely why I never bother with F1 these days - it's all about who has the most money and best pit crew (sweeping generalisation - but makes for boring races).

Just watch a Moto3 race (MotoGP 250cc class). That's proper racing where the leader changes pretty much every lap and (in the majority of races) any one of 10-15 riders has a chance at a podium going into the last 2-3 corners!

I watch every for of Motorsport that I can. But this year the F1 has been pretty good.

The apex is a moveable feast. Its location depends on line of approach and line of exit, neither of which can be guaranteed except on an empty track. Hamilton's line of approach was artificially cramped by being squeezed towards the old pit wall, but Max could have taken a text book racing line if he hadn't also been closer to the wall than is ideal in order to squeeze Lewis. If your line of approach is as Lewis's it is as if the track is much narrower and the apex moves to a position near the start of the curve assuming the exit line is available. If your exit is like Max's would have been, which point on the curve you choose to treat as an apex is somewhat out of your control due to the path of the inboard driver's line being unknown.

I have no views in the crash. Well I do, but they are irrelevant. I think is hamiltons fault 100% but is just an opinion. Stewards spoke, experts have reviewd, decision was taken.

However I´ve lost all respect for him, and I SAY ALL! From now on, any position he is in the championship, from now will be just ignored by my mind. (not that he will care at all)

Pretty much I see it like this

1. Send your title rivall to the wall, and to the hospital.

2. Get a 10 seconds penalty.

3. Fix your car under red flag.

4. Get team orders handed.

5. Go and win the race against a broken Ferrari.

6. Do a victory lap like if you have actually done something well, along with the whole crowd when your rival is in hospital.

7. Despite being found at fault, you and your team will keep blaming the other driver while is in hospital and not able to deffend himself.

8. Be remembered like the pig you are.

Even if for any reason, he was not at fault, the celebration in the context is what a pig would do. His job was to win the race, and he did. Being a pig and a retarded was optional.

To Add more fire... in the post race he was asked... now you know Max is in hospital, don´t you think it takes a bit off the shine of the events?

"honestly.... No" he replied.

Now someone will tell me "Max would have done the same had the same situation happened in Zandvoort" I I would reply that I would call him pig and retarded too. If we lose the respect of a fellow competitor´s life, we may aswell pack up. We race as one, Black life Matters, We respect... all of this has to start on track.

Well done.

Now... time to wait with popcorn for zandvoort in a month. The welcoming will be warm... warm... warm...

I imagine max would have been just as ruthless.

However I don't think max would have been celebrating like he'd won the championship or saying it didn't bother him a jot that the other guy was in hospital. That's the bit that doesn't sit right with me where Lewis is concerned.

I don't really get the fluster about it all to be honest.

Both drivers had plenty of room, neither "turned into" the other and both could have backed out to change their lines. It was simply that neither was willing to give ground in a two cars into one space situation. It's essentially the definition of a first lap racing incident and had it not been at copse, and not been good media bait to stoke up, it would all be done and dusted already.

I'm sorry Max got hurt as it was a big shunt, but he's okay and I 100% believe if reversed he would have sent it down the inside in exactly the same way and been happy to take the win afterwards. It's not like he's never got his elbows out many times before.

Both sets of fans will blame the other one obviously (Lewis haters in particular always seem quick to pipe up on the slightest sense of a misjudgement), and Red Bull/Horner/Marko aren't ever shy of a rant on camera, but I just don't think it was that big a deal.

If blame needs to be apportioned then it probably leans more towards Lewis than Max in the circumstance - although objectively in hindsight if Lewis was 'never going to make the corner' then Max should have let him fly off wide and just carried on his day - but it was marginal. Certainly not worthy of all the "Lewis should be suspended" or racist nonsense.

Essentially all that has happened is racing fans have been given some hard racing, something to gossip about, a closer championship and some petrol poured on a rivalry the likes of which hasn't been seen for a long time. Basically what they all wanted.

If we are going to start talking seriously about morality of the manner of celebration, etc... then that is fine, I think Lewis probably should have shown a little more concern/restraint given the nature of the race, but he is an emotional guy and I 100% believe isn't out there trying to be unfair or hurt people deliberately. Plus if anyone seriously starts holding Max Verstappen up as some sort of moral bell weather we've got bigger problems.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not hating on Max at all, I think he is lighting quick and massively talented. I just don't think the incident justifies all the fuss. Ultimately Lewis is going to get crucified in Zandvoort (and Spa) and Max is probably going to win the title... and Christian Horner will still find something to moan about.

All I know is once verstapen was off I turned over.

Skimming through the replay looks like he chucked the same move/corner on leclerc

and he went off aswell.

We'll see Lewis's mantle if he keeps being beat to the flag.
