Why it's the end of the road for petrol stations.

very slowly, because some folks dismiss the concept. sadly.

we once thought the earth was the centre of everything, in that the sun went around us and all the stars and planets did as well - on the face of it if you look up thats just what it looks like is happening, but over time and thanks to a select few individuals, one of which was under house arrest for questioning the accepted theory , it became very very clear that this was not the case and indeed we travel  around the sun which in turn travels around the universe.

sorry you know all that i am sure, and know that we are not at the centre of anything, i am trying to say that it takes a long time for what appears to be an accepted theory to be proven wrong, co2 is rising, humans make it worse, i would be happy to stay as we are and all drive petrol cars i love mine and would not wish to be without it - the problem is , its not about me its about the folks in 100, 200 years who will have a very different world to live in than we do now.

The thing that always amuses me in a grim sort of way, is that those that like to harp on about the natural cooling/heating climate cycles, do tend to gloss over the fact that they frequently act like a global reset button, and end in mass extinction events. They also tend to work in geological time, not human time.

I do wonder if some simply think, thanks to too many movies and an over reliance on technology, that we will quietly sit out the event, as a species, while we wait for the next cycle.

As has already been adequately explained, this upturn in global average temperatures is clearly and unequivocally attributed to the decline in the population of Pirates in square rigged ships. Just look at how the dates line up, it’s obvious…..

Or perhaps it might just be related to the point in time were we starting burning fossil fuel on a global scale.
