IanD
Ah what a shame was looking forward to that and even had the camera set up do we know if it be visible in the UK on the next launch
Alan France
Weather at CC for Saturday has 76% cloud cover but no thunderstorms at present. Bit like the Space Shuttle launches, I drove to CC four times, three were postponed for either weather or technical, one 16 seconds before launch. The one I did see was amazing. corsechris
I saw a few shuttle launches from various parts of Florida over the years, but the only one I got tickets to the launch day for got scrubbed pretty near to launch - couple of hours before IIRC. It did go up while we where there, but I didn't fancy spending all the rest of the holiday schlepping back & forth from Gulf to Atlantic coasts on the off-chance it would go. Kind of regretted not seeing it (relatively) closeup, but I guess I just wasn't dedicated enough. It wasn't the purpose of the trip after all. Saw a launch of something from the plane coming home last time we went - had just got on board and settling down with a Mojito when I spotted it out of the window. Lucky really as we'd only just boarded and could have easily missed it.
Andy Malone - Editor
Going to CC (and ideally seeing a launch sometime) is a bit of a bucket list thing for me. Never been to Florida before but hoping once my lad is a bit older we might do a long Disney focused trip and I'll go scratch my space itch for a couple of days. corsechris
We first went a good few years ago, back before anti-terrorist measures turned everywhere into an exercise in lockdown and before KSC got Disney-fied. It was a much less polished experience but all the better for it. Later visits were still good, but more sanitised and regulated. I’d still revisit though. Alan France
Houston is worth a visit and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington.

That's certainly what we did when I was a kid - two weeks in Florida with plenty of time to do Disney etc, plus a few days out at the Space Centre and the everglades etc. Awesome holiday.

I had exactly the same experience. Arriving at the engine bells then peering down the loooooooong building. Then remembering that most of the structure before me was essentially a fuel tank. Amazing.

Andy Malone - Editor
Just checked in on it and the weather seems 50/50 at best again. Can't decide whether to keep my boy up to watch it or not as it's about 30 mins after his bedtime and he'll probably be upset if it then doesn't go. Also, did you see this... SpaceX Starship SN4 prototype explosion yesterday. 😳 Don't think that'll buff out...
