Andy was not amused 😄 Yes, where is Oldman/Madlon - nothing from him for ages?

I was in the same boat with redundancy in '89 but fared somewhat better than you did - if living on a salary of 3/4 what I'd been used to is 'better'. It makes you appreciate the better times more and regret not taking opportunities that floated past - well it did me anyway. About a week after I moved in to my new (still current) dwelling they announced the global financial crash so I had a small concern about property values. Lucky for me though there was zero danger of negative equity so it was merely that opportunities to move again quickly may have been diminished. But I'm still here so... I worked pretty much hand to mouth from 2008 to 2011 BUT I was in a job which facilitated my career change so I was starting at the bottom... at the age of 44... That got me to where I am now which is a jet-setting globe-trotter responsible for network and internet comms on superyachts so one finds it difficult to complain too much about life being hard... My one regret is that all this got in the way of me enjoying the Speed Series but other than that, life has been pretty sweet...
Blatman
Looks to me like Dave has been utilising his position as an officer of the club to artificially boost his numbers. I refer to the posting of members birthday announcements, something to which I do not have access and never did myself during my tenure in his chair.
