shrops-paul
Sorry - I'm a bit late to this. You can get special drill bits for removing screws. You run the drill in reverse and the bits bite into the screw to remove it. They come in different sizes etc. I got a multipack of sizes form Wilkinsons I think. They are probably on amazon too. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=screw+removal+bit&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

I had an epic fail trying to remove a few exhaust studs from a Cossie head. One of them was stuck enough that it snapped the easyout which put a dampener on proceedings The lesson was, don't buy cheap easyouts, and be prepared for "alternative outcomes"...

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
This is turning into a great trip down memory lane; the soap trip instantly reminds me of my dad, teaching me the same thing! And blasters stud story, (one of his SFW, thank goodness), takes me right back to early days on the forum when I first heard it, and why you shouldn’t buy cheap Easyouts unless you’ve got a handy Spark erosion specialist around. Funnily enough, was only thinking about that story the other week, when my exercise route took me past the local industrial estate, and I spotted a company that actually does Spark Erosion! Autocorrect fail... Blasters? Only after beans... I did get the stud and easyout removed using a Dremel with a carbide cutter and some patience. But I had to take the engine out and we (my brother and I) worked on it whilst it was upside down in the boot of my Mondeo on the drive of my house. My garage had (still has) no power and a battery Dremel was not powerful enough... 3 hours ago, Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary said: (one of his SFW, thank goodness)
Blatman
Amazing how the memory plays tricks. It was a drill bit rather than a stud extractor... I have a clear memory of breaking a stud extractor in something, but obviously not my Cossie head...

Oops, either that or Google Chrome's spell checker knows an awful lot more about you than you realise, now the worrying thing is, after that post the other day, it alreadt thinks you've got a thing for wearing Burkas... It's not a thing, just an occasional dalliance... Does this count?
