I only know "Babe" by Styx.

Wasn't really into American AOR.

Mr Roboto is the best song of the 80s full stop.

@RussH

It's on Graham Norton now. On the "I can't believe it's not better" part.

Strewth, that’s a bold claim!!

I see your bland pop track and raise you anything the Eurythmics did in the 80’s. ;)

New Order - Blue Monday

Or

Grand Master Flash - The Message

or

Herbie Hancock - Rockit

or

Yazz - The Only Way is Up

or

Soft Cell - Tainted Love

or

Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax

or

Human League - Don't You Want Me or the entire Human League "The League Unlimited Orchestra" album. It's brilliant...

or

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

or

Aha - Take On Me

or

Dexys Midnight Runners - Geno

or

Phil Oakey and Georgio Moroda - Together in Electric Dreams

or

Ultravox - Vienna

or

Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine

or

Yazoo - Only You

or

Blancmange - Living on the Ceiling

or

T'Pau - Heart and Soul

or

Heaven 17 - Temptation

or

Baz Lurhman - (Everybody's free to wear) Sunscreen

or

Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody

or

Earth Wind and Fire - Lets Groove

or

Kool and the Gang - Celebrate

or

Fatback Band - I Found Lovin

or

The Jacksons - Can You Feel It

or

Freez - IOU

or

The Average White Band - Pick Up the Pieces

or

Imagination - Just an Illusion

or

Bill Withers - Lovely Day

or

Kenny Loggins - Footloose

or

Shalamar - Night to Remember

or

Adam and the Ant - Ant Music and Prince Charming

or

Rockers Revenge - Walking on Sunshine

or

Maze - Joy and Pain

or

The Gap Band - Burn Rubber (scarily on topic!!!)

or

Well I could go on... OK I did go on. But the 80's and some of the 90's was a brilliant time for music.

I'm off to create a playlist or three. That should kill a few lockdown hours.

In fact, I can feel a whole new thread-come-argument topic coming on that could while away a good few hours...   :d

I'd never heard the Styx track until this morning on the Graham Norton Radio 2 show, and I agree that "I can't believe it's not better"

Some of the songs on @Blatmans list are the songs of my late teens. But not all.

Just didn't get there yet. There will be... No Queen or Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet either

Aha was great not just for the song but the video too. It's no Thriller but it's still a good watch...
