Peak District Run Out, Sun 27th Oct, Matlock 10.30

Meet at Sainsburys, Matlock, DE4 3SP at 10.30am for a run out around the Peak District on a route yet to be determined. The clocks will have changed so it will be an earlier finish than usual allowing you all to get home in the light.

I will try my best to make this a Sunday run out, but should it be sparkly sunshine on Saturday and torrential rain on Sunday, then I will have to change the day. If it rains both days, stay in bed.

Sorry, got to miss this one again; last weekend available for finishing emptying and moving the contents of my garage to the new place! Hopefully normal service should resume in November!

Oh joy, it feels like the world is going SORN at the end of this month and we will be on our own all winter, a glimmer of hope at last.

I might be up for this, depending on how hardy I'm feeling.....

 

Looks like zero chance of rain, but 100% chance of rather chilly - the Aldi heated seat cover will have to come out, as well as the old motorbike winter survival gear

@NigelO good man, wrap up, especially your head and neck and when you think you are ready, go and put one more layer on. Glen will be wearing his Dickies suit/babygrow so it is no fashion show.

 

@Paul Hurdsfield we will be re-trying the Curbar Gap/Owler Bar route that we failed to do a couple of weeks ago due to an organised fell run. If you want to join us further North than Matlock, we can meet you in the large pull in at Curbar Primary School, Calver Bridge, S32 3XA at 11.15am. Look for the Bridge Inn with it's bright yellow sign and it is just there. We are having lunch at Homesford Tea Rooms, near Matlock, DE4 5HJ at about 12.30.

The plan is to finally make it to Tissington village for cake and finish there, putting everyone on the big, easy A515 Ashbourne to Buxton road to finish off. Just let me know where to look for you please.

The menu at Homesford is shown below. Might do the cake bit here too, you get tortured in there because they bring the cakes out of the oven and leave them to cool in the cafe area, think fresh, think homemade, think cake. I have booked us a table next to the log burner.

We can just have a coffee then at Tissington, yeah, right, good luck with that one.
