The usual chats with people about the car increased several times over due to the crowd being knowledgeable about historic racing cars and curious about the Westfield. I had one long conversation with an elderly gentleman who used to compete against Lotus Elevens in the 1950s. He had some lovely stories about BMC A series engines (in his case in an Austin Healey Sprite). Some Lotus Elise owners liked the low weight, low power philosophy - one having abandoned a recent Elise (with lots of Toyota bhp) and gone back to the original Rover K Series car for that very reason. There was a good turn out of our cars for a Friday. Let's see how this increases today (despite a lot of rain in the forecast) and Sunday (when it should be an altogether brighter and drier day).
