Simon Marks - North Oxfordshire AO Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 In my several trips through France, we hardly ever saw children. We thought that they must have been eaten, too! This thread has been one of the all-time greats - a consistently good read and as involving as a build thread. Well done, everybody. Simon 4 Quote

David-hrv Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Keep up the great work Geoffrey and gang. We've really enjoyed every minute of this fantastic trip. Your photos and videos have made it feel like we were there with you, so a big thanks to all of you for taking the time and effort to do these updates as you went along, and sharing the ups and downs with us (literally and metaphorically!). We're just sad it's all over! David 4 Quote

We left our cars with keys in, satnavs and cameras etc. This is a timber yard we passed on a main road and it was all open. Can you imagine this happening in the UK. I thought Jude had her sat nav stollen? 1 Quote

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Can only concur with the others, what an epic inspiring thread this has been, with the usual superb moving and still pictures to accompany it, so evocative of an amazing road trip! Well done all, how ever are you going to top this, next year? 1 Quote

Ah well, a happy ending at least! It’s a lot cheaper to kick yourself for missing it than buying another. I take it the car’s all home safe now? 1 Quote
Jude - The Mad Widow Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Indeed happy to look daft than buy another sat nav... Everyone's car is home except mine.. Its supposed to be here on the 21st. I then need an engine rebuild... That might be a challenge for me, don't suppose I can copy it from you tube can I???!!! Quote

I've noticed this as well driving in France in the rural towns especially, I put it down to the heat of the day and people staying indoors but the towns may just be sparsely populated?? Quote

We’ve been on a booze cruise to Calais today and it was pretty busy. Lots of children so probably half term. I guess the younger generation in some of the villages will have moved towards the larger towns? Keep the trip posts coming, really enjoyed the story and videos. Quote
