The rain stopped, so I stripped the front brakes off (I done them in at Blyton)

I think the technical term for them is Fubarred

I remembered that I had not stripped the interior trim off from the tailgate, so did that tonight which gained me another 1.6kg.

Bit more weight out tonight.

Headlining including cardboard above it that was bonded to the roof!

Interior light, roof mounted clock, sun visors and windscreen pillar trims.

Gary. If you intend to use it in the road at all i  would add back one Sun visor and the interior light for those dark starts on your way to autumnal track days and home again in the setting sun  :d

Of course if you can't bring yourself to add that weight back......... It's your choice.

I think I need another tintop track car, you're inspiring me.

Absolutely no intention of using it on the road - trailer it to and from trackdays.

It is SORNed

So no need to add that weight back, but I have hatched a design for a rear strut/harness bar which is going to put some weight back in :(
The offset against that is peace of mind. I am just not comfortable with having harnesses coming out that back of a bucket seat and then diving down at a fairly steep angle to connect to a rear seat belt pick up point.

Have you bought a tin top to strip yet.......

Talking of putting weight on, I am putting some weight back in on the Mini.

Today a knocked up a harness mount bar which is just drying off before I fit it

So that is going to add 2.7kg to the car.

Running total now 46.55kg

Front brake upgrade complete.

The pedal is absolutely rock hard with the engine off but a bit spongy with the engine running.

System has been bled several times including a software/ecu forced ABS pump purge/bleed.

Hopefully it is a bit soft as the pads need bedding in. Also the fact the caliper piston is slightly larger will no doubt be contributing to this I guess?
