Stephen W Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Also surely these are a high enough output in lumens to require headlight washers for the MOT regs. 1 Quote
Deanspoors Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 may be able to make these "fit" ... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisamic-Projection-Headlight-Motorcycles-Bulb-Black/dp/B01EA7U4GS/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_263_bs_tr_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GX4XJ0TRZ2NR6734G585 if I had my 5 3/4's still I would give it a go. groucher Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Anyone used these instead? https://furoreproducts.co.uk/lighting/led-headlights/headlight-3850-lumen-single Would love to upgrade mine to led, and these are better priced. scott Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Yes, have written extensively on it. They can be made to work really well, but, depending how you want to use them, it isn’t necessarily a straight/simple swap. Oh and they’re hellishly bright on either dipped or main beam! Quote

groucher Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 from google, looks like they are either Sirius NS-2270, NS-2271 or NS-2273. http://www.ns-sirius.com/ nothing on there website though.... https://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/inch-headlight-led-position-light-bar-p-562968.html#.Wq4ky0x2sRA https://caterhamparts.co.uk/headlights/6481-5-3-4-led-headlight.html https://www.louis-moto.co.uk/artikel/highsider-led-headlight-unit-jackson-5-3-4-zoll/10035338 None of them cheap, so might have to put this upgrade off for a while..... hope some can find them cheaper. scott Quote
Kit Car Electronics Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I think @Geezergs used these which are a good price and straight swap: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323138829504 Quote
Wolfdog Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I've just purchased some furore headlights for mine... 1 Quote
Geezergs Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Yup Mike's correct as usual I'm really happy with mine the light output is beyond my expectations the standard halogen fittings gave the light of a glow worm these LED's give a great spread of clear white light making night time jaunts down country lanes a thing of wonder .... also other road users can see you coming.... Wolfdog Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Haven't decided yet to be honest, can't decide whether to use the indicators in them.. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 In which case, be aware that the indicators will only function if the white ring of Halo LED's are already on. In other words, they must be permanently on when driving, but you also need to have them come of with the hazards when the ignition is off. This can be covered by using a power feed for the Halo's from one of the connections at the hazard warning switch. However, in this configuration, the halos are acting as DRL's, so you have no side light. According to Furore, this could be solved by putting a dimmer on the Halo feed to dim them for side light use. I didn't get this to work, but then might have had an incompatible controller and wasn't that bothered! I just fitted some extra LED lights to act as sidelights. Alternatively, if you just use the halos as sidelights, then they just wire in to the s/light circuit as normal* *Though if you get a picky MOT inspector, he may point out that they're a bit bright for sidelights, in which case, you might still need a dimmer. Performance on dipped and main beam is superb, though you will join the Zenon club as far as other motorists are concerned! Quote
KowloonExpress Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 For these kind of things i highly recommend aliexpress.com What you purchase from the european sites come from china anyway. On Aliexpress you find it for a fraction of the price here in EU. https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=AS_20180319171512&SearchText=5.75+led+motorcycle+headlight Quote
Geezergs Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Good link keen prices.. But then import duties and shipping will have an impact. Quote
KowloonExpress Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Naa, if you're lucky it's nothing at all. Free shipping/or included in the price for most items there. The volumes of china packages passing over the borders nowadays are so large customs simply dont have capacity to charge you. And what if you get a VAT on top of those prices you are still way way below anything you find in Europe. I shop there a lot, the only down side is the delivery, it takes time, but if you have the time it's unbeatable. Quote
