Spent the weekend with this as my home! Glamping with the family in a lovely location in Cambridgeshire!

Attempting to replace the slave cylinder on my Renault Trafic van.

So I knew this would eventually happen as I’ve been nursing it for around a year now 😆 but the inevitable happened on the way home from work on Friday afternoon.

I stepped on the clutch pedal to change down and it never came back up again, fortunately I don’t live to far from where I work, so I basically had to drive clutchless for around 2 miles, which was going fine until someone stopped in front of me. At this point all I could do was turn off the engine, wait for the car to move on and then select first gear and use the starter motor to jump start me (if you see what I mean).

So got home ok in the end and now starting operation ‘slave cylinder’ which having looked at a few videos doesn’t look to difficult but having never done this before quite daunting. Yesterday I started by stripping the front off and the inside mudguard and I’m now attempting to strip all the components away from the gearbox/bell housing.

Hopefully I can get it done over the next couple of weekends.

Wish me luck!
