TAFKARM Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 For the first time ever, I've pointlessly clay barred my track car. Quote
DamperMan Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 The drivers rear brake on the daily has been sticking for ages and will stick on if I've had an emergency stop. Tonight I changed it. I went for a drive and the other one stuck. Either all the stomping on the break peddle or something handbreak cable related has upset the other side. I've unwound the handvreak cable and tapped back the lever. And it's off now. Quote

DamperMan Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Leading on from that I drove a 340 bhp v6 Morgan today. Sliding pillar front end and live axle pushed to the limit... . The rear drums where smoking well after a few miles... I was enjoying it until my passenger announced the windows don't open wide enough to be sick out of. 1 Quote

SootySport Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Been cutting out the hole for me air filter, slowly bit by bit. It's a bit complex with all the curves. Quote
DamperMan Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Rant.......Yesterday I learned that my wife's 2 year old seat Ibiza at 10,000 miles has not lost all its air con 137A . It does not have a leak. It simply dissipated. I bet they'd find the leak if it wasn't still under warrantee. I was also frilled to learn how the fixed price full service does not include an air con service at 69.99. I wonder what else the full service did not include! I can see it did not include any service stuff like oil, filters, etc It seamed to me the full service was an expensive check if there was anything not covered under warranty needing doing. They are so lucky my lovely wife collected the car. So if you find your dampers have no oil in them and you think there for they are leaking... you are wrong it's simply disipated and that's not covered under warranty! 1 Quote

How long before their customers have dissipated? My neighbour's 2 yr old Ibiza has just had the same problem. See http://www.seat.co.uk/owners/your-seat/servicing-maintenance/fixed-price-servicing.html the 2 year Seat service is £239 and covers engine oil and filter renewal plus diagnostics plus visuals plus pollen filter renewal. Worse still Skoda say £269 at 2 years. If you add air-con top-up and renew brake fluid and replace wipers (recommended) then you can reach nearly £400--nice! Spark plugs and air filter renewal are "if required" which seems left to dealer's discretion so could be omitted on a low mileage model; if they are replaced the cost does not increase. Quote
DamperMan Posted July 16, 2017 Author Posted July 16, 2017 Apologies to anyone hoping to enjoy a nice drive in the chiltons today. I was one of at least 600 cyclists slowing your progress. Tired now might snooze! Quote
