Steve (sdh2903) Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Or not? As much as I loathe the buffoon, I actually admire the fact he's sticking to his pledges and looking after his country. Telling huge corporations to build in the US using US made materials or we'll tax you to the hilt. Can you imagine our nimby country doing that? It'd take a committee, then a vote, then an inquiry... We can't even get a runway built at our capitals Airport that is 20 years overdue!! I'd just like to add I'm not endorsing the views on race and immigration! I just think it's sort of refreshing that a sort of politician is sticking to his pledges. Or do I need a stiff drink and a word with myself? 1 Quote
Thrustyjust Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Wear a dust mask mate. The red dust is fazing your brain I am sitting on the fence to decide if he is doing the yanks a favour or just showing he's the big man at the top. He has always been a business man and made his money, I guess , but I wonder where all this money is coming from. 28000 people to build the oil lines and US materials and guess somethings got to give to pay peoples wages for the time its in construction alone. I think we do need to give him enough rope. And he's not a politician (which is a good start), his attitude to women is just better than Mr Clinton's and places like Detroit have been allowed to become ghost towns. Of course he's mad, he's an American. Quote

Or just because he loves the limelight and the reaction? But here he is first week in office actually doing something. I still can't take him seriously with that thing living on his head though !! CraigHew Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I don't like him as a person or particularly as a business man ( he's been bankrupt 4 times) but he just might be a breath of fresh air. imagine a brit doing the same for our stuffy politics??. 1 Quote
DamperMan Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I'm sitting on the fence regarding what he might do and if I like him. The media have brewed up a storm and presented something he may or may not be. He does not need to be nice or a gentleman to do good things for his country. People have marched in the streets in protest of trump but there was a democratic vote and he won. Is he wrong or the folk who voted for him. Maybe the section of the population who didn't vote should be protested against... its democratic He's 70 and his approach to many things are like lots of People of his age. They say and do and have done things which may not be appropriate today. He's seen massive changes in his county over the years. Much of what he says makes sense... china has raged a trade war for years subsidising exports. Is this fair ? There are short turn gains for the consumers (voters) but long term losses for the home industries and money flows out of that country The whole Russia hacking thing was absolute nonsense. Pot calling kettle black. Angela merkle had to call Obama to ask if he minded stopping his agencies listening to her phone conversations. We should stand up for our selves more and forget notions like it's not cricket! No other country would look out for us... all our neibours in Europe and friends will be cueing upto make our exit from the ec easy !! Not!!! Quote

dombanks Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 He seems his own worse enemy. Time will tell. But going by his current raft of executive orders then if your a minority, woman, child, not wealthy, foreign, not Israeli, a NGO/public funded body/scientist then you currently seem a bit screwed. Hey ho at least us Britons can take back the moral high ground. Quote
Kevin (Mr T) Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Mad, in a sort of Johhny Depp/Willy Wonka kind of way.... Quote
