alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 As per the title we are selling our Grey Ferguson. Made in the Standard Engineering works in 1953 and coming with V5C and registration number FCC +++ (3 letters and 3 numbers). 2 litre Standard Engine as used by triumph i believe and kicking out a mighty 22bhp at the flywheel. "non-sprint ratios in the gearbox (4 sp) give a healthy road speed of 12 MPH" This is the Tractor Vapourising Oil version that has two tanks - one for petrol (unleaded) and one for Kerosene. It starts on petrol and then the you switch it over to Kerosene for working. Very good tin work and in complete road legal working order. This tractor has tended 18 acres of grass for the past 2 years doing all topping, harrowing and bale carting in the summer. It is NOT a concourse restoration but a very well conditioned original tractor. We are the third owners since the 1950's !! New tyres in 2011 and new condensor and electrics all through. £3,000 (delivery available)
BillyPee Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Made me smile. I've no use for a tractor but, if I did, I'd love a classic like that. Good look with the sale.
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Cheers Billy, Forgot to say it comes with a milk churn box that goes on the 3 point hitch, as well as tow kit for long drawbar towing. It has a 64 feet time of about a minute JSA
pickmaster Andy Lowe Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 A good looking classic tractor with very good spares backup too This was the tractor that replaced the horse on most farms and very collectable You should soon sell it If not ill race you this season with mine lol just need to find 1B Tyres in 28"
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Cheers Pick - i'd love to keep but weve just upped the acreage at home so A) need a new modern machine and B) need a new horse lorry !!!
XTR2Turbo Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I'd love this ... but don't really need it. Very tempted .
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 David, You've seen her.... Totally original :-)
FILFAN Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I need it. But need somewhere to use it first
jeff oakley Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Theres as guy in Bath who uses his in the summer to go to work on. It looks cool driving one of these in a suit and as the traffic in Bath is at a snail pace, it fits in well
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Jeff I agree with that. I have used it for work and did a job 6 miles away from my yard. Took me an hour to get there but got about a hundred waves and thumbs up!!
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 I will take some pics tomorrow and update with things like engine plate, makers plate, hitch box,
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 It revs to about 1850 rpm Scott - its a screamer !!
alexander72 Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 A barn pic of the old tractor when she had a wash down after bale carting
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Somewhere in the back of my memory is a name of an acquaintance who loves those things. I'm damned if I can call his name to mind though...
