O yeah. so many posts ! and did you fit it yourself if so how easy/hard was it ?

Yes I fitted myself, I wouldn't say it was difficult to but it was time consuming to fit it well.

Once you've got the first pop stud set in the centre of the tub and on the hood you just work your way outwards from there fitting each one in turn. It takes a while though as for each pop stud you'll need to remove the hood from the car to punch the vinyl and fit the stud, the refit it again to mark the position for the next one. From memory (as it was a while ago) mine took just over half a day to fit.

Hi all

 

On this subject I have just bought my first Westy which has come with a full factory roof, frame and doors. The car has had a factory boot lid fitted and it looks like the frame will not go on with this in place. Can anyone advise please.

My frame sits inside the bootbox lid.

 

I lift up the lid and the frame sits inside and then the lids closes and locks in place.

Having a hood offers one big advantage.... when you come to sell your car... You attract 1st timers off Autotrader/Ebay who pay top dollar and won't possibly consider buying a car without a roof .

I will take a look at the weekend, I ride a motorbike so am used to getting wet, it's the missus I Gotta keep dry.

That's brill Geoffrey, shows it load and clear. This is all still very new to me and the boss! But loving it every moment, even getting numb last Sunday on a blast out.
