Track Day Accident - Court awards costs

Another side note, you aren't always a ware of what the insurance companies are doing in the background in your name, when it comes to recovering losses etc.

I only found out completely by accident and several years after the fact, that one of my old insurance companies had actually take another driver to court over an accident where he pulled out on me as Iw as mid-overtake. I knew absolutely nothing about the court case at the time.

M444TTB,

I don't actually remember if I'm honest. I did several arranged bike only style days and also did a couple pay per lap free for all days.

The free for all days had everyone from a 19yr old in his MK 2 golf through to serious track day kings. I very rarely went full tilt on open days as I saw too many people inches off the back wheel of a bike. I don't have and never did have the skills to push it through corners if chased. I was too concerned that the person behind could clip me and send me off, then run me over!

The bike only days and organised events would send off groups based on capability. I'd go in bottom group as I knew I could leave them well behind me and I'd have a clear track to enjoy.

I remember being there back in 2011 and overtaking bikes (despite going very slow myself) as well as an orange BMW M3 v8 drifting behind me on most of the corners. Also 911 GT3s coming by like I'd parked up for a picnic! Not something I think I'd fancy doing again although I would do a proper track day assuming you aren't charged in the same way or a 3rd part policy is offered. But I really wouldn't drive the Westfield that far with no screen, heater or weather gear!
