Ty Croes Sprint, Sunday 1st Sept; WSCC members parade lap

Those of you enjoying the Speed Series, or sprinting with other series will no doubt be familiar with the Ty Croes event. For those that aren't, the Lancashire & Cheshire Car Club and MG Car Club North West have been organising sprints at the fantastic Anglesey circuit for over eighteen years.

The events have always been hugely popular, with a tremendous atmosphere and often heavily over subscribed - club folk lore is full of stories of us turning up at Sarah and Martins house the morning the entry forms & regs landed on our door steps.

The WSCC has been a big supporter of this event.

In recognition of this, Sarah and Martin, (the event secretaries), have extended a personal invite to the rest of the WSCC, we are all welcome!

The plan is, to have the WSCC gathering on the Sunday, and during the lunch time interval between timed runs, we will have a parade around the circuit with a photo taken of as many Westfield’s on track as we can get.

We need to start to get some numbers for Sarah. She is happy to help by putting aside an area for us to congregate in.

This is potentially an excellent publicity opportunity for the club. (As well as a cracking day out spectating and having our piccie taken).

We've had stunning photos of "Westfield Avenue" at Stoneleigh, the infamous Manchester to Stoneleigh M6 photos, lets try and get a great turn out for a shot of the largest number of cars we can, in their natural habitat.

Bullet points:

  • Sunday 1st September, the sprint is all day, parade lap at mid-day.
  • Ty Croes circuit Anglesey
  • We will have a "club area" to park up in.
  • This is not a track day or competitive event, it will be a (brisk I imagine!) parade lap, with photos.
  • It's a perfect opportunity for local areas to arrange scenic runs through some of Wales finest roads to get to and from the circuit.
  • Please lets get a tally of numbers going - sign up in the post below!

This should be a brilliant fun day and a really good opportunity to see just how many Westies we can get on the track for the picture shoot.

Sarah & Martin have always been really friendly and love having the WSCC sprinters at Anglesey, so will do everything they can to make this a success. Also the circuit management really want us there as well, so should make for a great day out.

Make sure you stand next to the pit wall when some off the class F & H guys go past at full chat, a real experience for you.
