  1. Hello! I am Fabian from Germany, please excuse my poor english. I am trying to work on it. I bought a Westfield SE with an 2.0 OHC and Solex Carburators this Year. I have done many Improvements yet, but i am not satisfied with the engine Power and fuel consumption. So i made the decision to buy a ST170 engine, because its the "top" Model of the Zetec Engines. I bought an complete ST170 with some Chassis damage. I sold everything i dont need. I drove the car home, it felt great and the engine run very well. Although there were no metal parts in the oil etc. i bought the car for 550€ and sold parts for arround 900€, this is great! Engine hast 140500km on it. I think this is ok. My plans are as following: -T9 to ST170 -Use ME221 as ECU, because they are able to control the VVT properly without an extra box etc, also i like the Software they provide. -Throttle Bodies from Bike or Jenvey etc. i am not sure yet. -Gain about 190-200 hp, i think this should be possible -VVT should work, because i like the low end torque -Exhaust should be a bit silent in relation to the actual one, mine is really loud. Now i am about to fit the T9 Gearbox to the Engine. I think i have almost every Tools that are neaded. My questions for now are: -Which Single Mass Flywheel would fit in my combination? I read that Zetec 1.8 should fit, but i cant really find a part number etc. -Which Clutch Parts do i need? I found that i should use the OHC 2.0 clutch plate etc. -Does the Pickup Sensor (36-1) work for the Single Mass Flyhwheel as for the original flywheel? Maybe you can help me a bit with my questions, that would be very nice. I think i will documente everything with pictures, so others can use this thread to gain some information. Although i hope that my questions arent the same ones again 100 times.

    Starter motor

Good morning, I just bought my first westfield se with a 1700 crossflow engine. It had a large sticker on it from wscc so someone might know this car. Q78jtt. She will be registered in holland. I love it but i ran into the first issue, the starter motor is to low. At least the relais is currently the lowest point of the car, which is facing downward. I would love to find a starter motor with the relais facing upward. It will be closer to the exhaust manifold but it is heat wrapped so it shouldn't cause any issue. Does someone know which starter motor to use in my case? Thank you
  3. Hi all, Not sure where to start with this but I have ended up with most parts needed to rebuild a 1989 Westfield SE. The car is not registered and I would suspect many parts are past their best! I bought this for spares for my build but ended up not using much (maybe just gearbox in the end). I would like to get rig of much as possible in one go but will split. I need the space so keen to move the chassis and bodywork! Please see the pictures below. Sorry not very organised! I do not know the value so please can you make offers? (Do let me know if this is not allowed on here but I cannot see this rule in the sticky post at the top). Many more pictures to upload.... PS the items are in Worcestershire (near Evesham / Stratford upon Avon)
  4. Belgiumdiver

    Hello from Belgium

Hi! After years of searching for a Westfield that fitted my expectations and dreams :-), I bought this car from a Belgian seller specialised in British cars. It's a imported (from England) Westfield SE from 1990 with a crossflow 1600 engine on a weber carb. The car had a yellow nose, but the seller painted it green. Previous owner totally rebuild, refurbished the car, it's in brand new condition. Did a test drive with it and was starstruck, what a feeling :-). I'm now waiting to get my licence plate and insurance so I can start adding some miles on it. Looking forward to being a part of this community, thanks in advance. Greets from Brugge - Belgium

    30 year old new build

Hello one and all. Just acquired a pre-lit seven SE. So many unanswered questions. Chassis number 87SE544, wondering what I can do with it. Looking towards a 2ltr Zetec or Duratec, 5 speed Sierra box. It is already rolling on live axle with steering rack installed and working. This has been owned by 4 people now including myself, loads of paperwork/receipts and original bill of sale! Plan on a strip down and full rebuild to completion. Already has 4 pot calipers and discs on the corners. 13 inch wheels don't fit because of these, so looking at 15 inch with 205/45/15 toyos. i have taken some images, but too large to upload, when this is done will post them. Already found loads of useful info from the forum, but all advice will be gratefully accepted. Regards, Graeme.
