M444TTB Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Sad thing is more than one person will have had a very similar day! Quote
pistonbroke Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 back in the days I used to be a troglodite beatnik , long hair , floppy pully , jeans , winklepickers , never washed , never shaved . havn't changed much in all the years except the hair has long gone and shoes like the rest of me wore away Quote
s2rrr Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 If you told the kids of today they would never believe you. We were probably no different in our day but can't remember being that abnormal. Its probably an age thing. Bob Quote
Captain Colonial Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I was never scruffy - dressed in appalling clothing (platform shoes, garish shirts, flared trousers, hair below my shoulders) by today's standards, but never scruffy. Quote
alexander72 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 This is really funny this thread. I have had, in the last 5 years, a shaved head , a mohican, long hair and now short hair, always wear scruffy work clothes cos they get dirty working. i would love to see Mem Sec's flares at Stoneleigh this year though Quote

alexander72 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 hehehehe, I like that. Tex, we had lad once who we made sit in the back of the lorry (the open chip box on the back) from Dagenham to Northampton as he was so smelly. It was January Quote
User0083 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 What's top of the food chain now was bottom in my day! A*** hanging out of jeans... Sagging pants were not meant to be trend for the males. The reason was that wearing your pants below your waist states that you were another inmate’s property. The inmate who related the story was an elderly black gentleman who had been sentenced to life in prison and had been there for over fifty years. He marveled how such a mark of shame has become a fashion statement. He says “that younger inmates don't believe him when he tells them, but swears it's the truth”. See! I believe it's used by homosexuals at work a bit like an engagement ring! Then skinny jeans and polo shirt shows they are single! Many straight people adapt one dress or the other and must be clueless to the signals they are portraying. I'm usually in cargo's. I have rugby players legs and most loose fit jeans are too tight for me to wear without cutting circulation to my gentlemans's region! My arms are thicker than most skinny jeans wearers legs! And I'm the odd one out for selecting clothes for comfort and function over fashion! Quote
