jeff oakley Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Now I know that this will sound like an old man moaning, but having just been shopping it struck me how scruffy people in genral look. I am not suggesting that they should don shirt and tie but for heavens sake is it too much to ask them to have a wash? And who told all the fat girls that leggings will make them look slim? They don't and make you look worse. This is not confined to the young it just seems that with the exception of a few people with standards and the older ones there is no care taken at all. Yes people may be poor but how much does it cost to wash a few clothes and your own hair? Makes you wonder what their homes are like. Quote
greenandmean Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 In a nutshell Jeff, I think its down to lack of respect for themselves and anyone else. Quote
User0083 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Grr... Grr.... What about fashion? I'm a straight white male that's not into football or track suits... Is there anything in any high street shop for me? As much clothing as benefits! I pay taxes and demand a choice in clothing! Quote
Graham0127 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I agree with Jeff 100%.I am very fortunate living where I do,it`s in the words of our children`s headmaster `a very fortunate and privilaged area`.When I collect my children from school ( not often enough) ALL the parents are very well turned out.NOT a tracksuit or scruff in sight.However,15 minutes down the road and it`s a different story.I cannot believe the `state` of some people and as Jeff said it`s not just youngsters. Fashion doesn`t come into it as great fashion still can look fantastic. It`s the unkempt look that lets people down......Dirty messy poorly fitted clothes and `fag ash Lil` types really are offensive to me.This with bad and poor language really lets people down.I`m not an old fogey,I`ve kids of 20,8 and 6.......they are victims of fashion and our bank accounts show it,but, they are always smart and well presented. Clothes maketh the man (woman & child) I was always told.....and.....I believe it. No excuses for being SKINT....A good wash and brush up costs nothing..neither does respect for yourself or others. LOOK GOOD ,FEEL BETTER...That`s our motto............... End of Saturday rant. Quote
pistonbroke Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Have to laugh at the girls so called fashion today , seems the motto is "if you've got it flaunt it " , so let the bare midrif flab hang out The popular black leggings remind me so much of Max Wall, I always have a chuckle to myself when I see them . Of coarse its all done in the best possible taste Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 often there are wonderful folk under the scruffy exterior - they say you should never judge a book by its cover, however I know where you are coming from as it seems like wearing onesies is perfectly acceptable around these parts travel to Paris and they all look so stylish in comparison Quote

ajpearson Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 And the fact that most of these people obviously do not own a mirror, or there is no way they would go out looking like that. Cornwall is just as bad, its all surfer stuff and scraggly hair down here Quote
Graham0127 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I keep looking at this posting..... Seems so many people have lost.....respect,identity & self worth...Its becoming a society of....`it`ll do` and `whatever`. whenever you watch TV it seems to be the same type `giving off` all the time. Why do so many white kids want to talk like black kids.Black kids talking like black kids sounds ok but white kids talking like it sounds awful. ........... GOT IT..... It`s a country wide audition for the Jeremy Kyle show Quote

User0083 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Leggings always make me think off Pauline Quirk in "Birds of a Feather" Mrs C's long legged and slim... Second she puts leggings on I remind her of statement just made. What they think they look like What they actually look like I don't watch much tv, I don't follow fashion, but. Feel I must be old because I don't get the youth of today. A mate of mine started chatting to a girl, rather big girl... But start of night and wanted to "warm up" and get confidence. We could see her look him up and down, her face was a picture... "Girls with this booty don't waste time boys like you!" She really wasn't even 8 beers and a paper bag. Like these song idol people that think they can sing and make fools of the, selves and can't understand why they get booted out! Quote
FILFAN Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 What's with young lads with there and pants sticking out and their jeans around the knees. I'm no style guru and could often do with a smarten up myself but I do have self respect. As for girls I like what Kevin bridges says Skinny girls think their fat Fat girls think their obese And obese girls think their super models Quote
