I thought that would be the case for French registration. My Eleven was build in 2007, but the donor is from 1971 so I may be lucky.

I cut (English verb very easy to learn "cut cut cut" every time! Thank you!) the 4 in 1 's main pipe

After the brand new primary exhaust, then the main one rebuilt.

I will mount it higher to prevent "crash" with road.

Yes, that's what I found after quietening my exhaust.  The answer is expensive, an under bonnet airbox or a filter cover .

Here is the filter coverhttp://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=2812 May need a new filter base plate to fit it and depends on the space between your existing filter and the horizontal chassis rail.  Thread on this subject for you to read http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/103150-airbox-to-reduce-induction-noise-considerations/?hl=caterham#entry1069646

A cone under bonnet filter used here on an MX5 carhttp://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/103107-thought-id-share-some-pics/page-1   There will be a problem with space using side draught carbs though.

Agree wih Dave! :)

Interesting on that green Caterham - the suspension arms and steering rack go through the nose cone. That would be a real pig to fix if he had a cooling problem up front!

A Caterham staple that. Interestingly, Westfield also did it briefly with their Homologated production cars in the nineties.

Love those Alfas, nearly bought one back when I was a student, but bottled it; didn't think I'd be able to afford to run it, or have anywhere to maintain it.

Great Bugatti too.
