alexander72
Ok Smokey, cheers mate see you Friday PM. Looking at the weather forecast - are we allowed to run snow tyres/chains under the MSA blue book?
Dodgey
I've seen the forecast so far is dry but cloudy / foggy and cold. I'm new to having 888's and I've read they don't work under 10 degrees (forecast for 3) so I guess I'm better off putting my Yokohama A539's back on? (plus with fog comes damp one assumes)
RobC
my forecast has it with light rain and 7deg. we'll be fine. was there on monday testing the new setup. what compound are the 888s? yokos won't be much use. Stick with the 888's if it aint raining the stick tyres will work out ok.

Dodgey
My 888's are "GG". I assumed that as the tyres don't get a chance to warm up then maybe my treaded tyres would be better - but I have no experience of driving my 888's in the cold or wet really. RobC
888's will work in damp but not drenched conditions. esp. at combe which gets greasy when it's proper raining. Drizzle will be fine. Ran 888s for many years at combe in damp and dry. Raining is a different matter mind you I'd possibly bring both, see what we are presented with and run on which you think in practice. Will give you an idea of track etc. as it's practice there is no need to go full beans. They are only practice runs to give you an idea of what is possible. Timed runs are what counts on the day. Bispers
Wet night overnight near Combe and the same forecast again tonight. Looks like tomorrow daytime may be dry, under heavy cloud, so we'll have to see how the track will dry with very low temperatures. I'd guess damp practice and hopefully dry runs but with the temperatures only just above freezing ( but feeling below it) we'll have to wait and see. Good luck choosing appropriate tyres
KugaWestie
I saw a Yellow Westfield being trailered this morning on my way to work, heading towards Chipping Norton on the A361 out of Banbury - no doubt Coombe bound!
