That's a pretty poor alternative, I agree, but the Clarkson piece on the silly car was a waste of time and licence payers' money. Damian Lewis was quite amusing though, and made a decent effort in difficult conditions.

I agree with Motco - the programme is always contrived but that 'P45' one was very stupid indeed.  If that's the best they can come up with for the opening show then I fear for the rest of the series 'cos they must be completely running out of ideas.  Doubtless the format will continue until it has been milked to death though.

It may well be that the stupid car feature was enjoyed by the majority of viewers. I can see why we, sports car nutters thought it was stupid.
