Well, first day of the new job completed after an entertaining start

I got there, met the boss, he said he had to go out within 5 minutes of me arriving, so I was there on my own in the office.

2 blokes that used to work for me at my old employer turn up wanting some materials, so I answer the door and the look on there faces was absolute classic

 

Not that eventful really, but it was a very funny double take moment

Followed by them saying - "what you doing here"?

 

My reply - "I work here"

 

They reply - "Since when"?

 

My reply - "About 15 minutes ago"

 

The look of confusion on their faces still makes me chuckle now

Got 12 months to make an impact, so a bit of pressure, but I like a target

 

Just to bring this one back up

 

Had a sit down and chat at work today regarding the future, and the feedback received was fantastic (but working in a small office I had a good feeling anyway), and they feel they cannot do without me

I've always said that money is only a part of a job, happiness can be far more important.

 

Definitely, although the 18.5 year job was mostly enjoyable, apart from about the last 3 years of it.

 

I certainly sleep a lot better these days, and am certainly more appreciated!
