Blatters, don't you know that you're supposed to learn Polish or Urdu or whatever language your neighbours speak.  :)

I see your situation now Blatman, your cabinet has not been done then for one of a variety of reasons as I listed in a previous post. Hopefully OR will re-visit your area later as everyone has been taken of new FTTC infrastructure to Firefight other pressing work, it's all go at the front, as they say.

What else is going on?

I did find a couple of exchanges in Central London that are still ADSLMax for resi custiomers according to the services I can buy down that way. I was shocked...

Just lots of line faults and installation jobs, FTTC and normal installs. Company just can't keep up with it all. Customers are always changing their SP's and this allways results in more work for engineers, although very small jobs but it's the volume of it all.

One thing to note about FTTC is, if you live close to an exchange and your line does not go through a cabinet then you can't have Infinity, only ADSL max.

I'm going to go bang on the door of my exchange and ask an engineer. That said, I'm seeing about 12meg so I must be on something other than Max...

Sorry I meant ADSL 1 or 2, 8meg. or 20meg.

Gotta be 2 then, which is something. I'm not a big downloader so for surfing it's fast enough.

I was sat on a 120Mb Virgin connection a while ago and for regular surfing / emails etc, it didn't seem to be massively faster than my 12meg at home. I suspect the superfast connections will simply show up bottlenecks elsewhere...

you will be on 21c

Dunno for sure. I need to dig a little deeper on Samknows or similar...

Or Bernie knows!

You'll be on 21CN which is ADSL2 20meg. Some SP's hve 24meg. but I can't remember who, my head is filled with Westfield info these days couldn't care less about the job to be honest now I got me pension and still working full time + OT. I'm a money grabber now.

I've got Virgin Media but it's not been so good recently, they've had a peering problem which has caused terrible problems with streaming, I don't watch live TV these days, only the odd program on iPlayer etc but at peak times it's been impossible in the last few weeks.
