Newbie Here With First Westfield

Hello all. I sold my Ford Escort RS Turbo S1 last week and bought a Westy. The Escort replaced a Yamaha FZR1000 motorcycle and I never really got as good a buzz out of it compared to the bike, so I think a Westy is as near to having a bike without having one. I picked up the Westy on Sunday in the dark and rain and still loved it, the power is so raw and the drive is very grin inducing, wrong time of year but should have some fun next year.

Hello and welcome to Westfield ownership! :)

Hmmm, looks familiar does that car. Very nice example indeed! I'm sure you'll have many happy hours together ahead.

You're in the right place for everything Westfield as well, which I hope will be proved to you many times over and sufficiently to consider joining us when you're ready.

For now - just enjoy! :t-up:

Kind regards,

Scott

Welcome and congratulations on your purchase.

You will get looked after here, especially if you join the club ;) . It will be the best £30 you spend on your Westy

The car looks great, enjoy!

Thanks for the welcome. I bought this car local to me in Wick in the far North of Scotland, it has been up here for a good few years and was originally purple.

What do I get for my £30 then?

yes, it's the one JeffC painted Focus ST orange then - there is a thread about it on here (If the details from the old forum were brought over)

Welcome to the site, you have a very nice car.

Hi and welcome! That is an really great looking car you've got there. :t-up:

I also went from an Escort RS Turbo to a Westfield (about 10 years ago though) and it was a very good move. Many years later and I've somehow ended up with an RS Turbo engined Westy.

Enjoy the new motor!

Well, besides the wit, charm, humour, support and technical knowledge of many years from the wonderful members and past threads, there's this.

The searchable archive is a big benefit you get from being a member - here's your baby in purple being painted, for instance.

On the downside, I'm here too, but you can ignore me.:t-up:

Also if you become a member you'll take the honour of being the furthest north member away from me

I'm near Tain, and Alan's from Invergordon while Steve's in Forres.

For me at least, being a member is not about what I'll get for it, but just wanting to be a part of it and contribute to the running of the club that provides this free forum amoungst other things.

Welcome either way :t-up:

Doug

Good to see another Scottish member and orange is the best colour for a Westy

Welcome to the world of Westie ownership and as Dean said, especially as you're based up here! However, unlike Dean, I might disagree about the best colour :d .

That's a cracking car you have there and this forum is without doubt the best place to come for anything Westie-related. You're also a lucky sod with the roads you have to play on - probably some of the best and quietest in the UK!

Cheers, Matt

Cheers,

Matt

Welcome, and spot on comment above, it's not what can I get for my £30 but what can I contribute...this is a great club, but it needs financial as well as intellectual contributions to function.
